Who: Stephen & Rose What: He's mad, fiances meet in person Where: Inside his country cottage When: After Bellatrix's response Rating/Summary: Medium for language / In progress
Stephen's temper was usually in check. He had more control over it than most twenty year olds, but he still had one. Tonight, his temper was taking over. The response from Bellatrix Lestrange had not been what Steve had wanted. Not only was he denied access to Azkaban, he was one hundred percent sure Michael had been tortured by Bellatrix herself. Did Michael not care about his life? Was protesting through a journal really worth it? It didn't make sense to Steve. He thought Michael would have hated it in Azkaban, and would have done anything to get out. Apparently not, apparently Michael was perfectly happy infuriating Death Eaters that enjoyed the Cruciatus curse.
He was angry Michael was upset with him. He wanted to make Michael understand, to hear his point of view. Steve hadn't been the only one - he knew for a fact Morag MacDougal and Su Li had done the same as he had done. It was become a Death Eater or be killed. It wasn't all that bad, either. While Steve didn't entirely agree with the way You-Know-Who ran things, Steve was doing alright. For the most part, he was left alone. So he had to get married - he would have gotten to get married one day. And Rose wasn't so bad. She was quiet, calm, and pretty. Steve hadn't done too many missions for the Death Eaters, he'd joined the party pretty late. He was dreading the time when it came, but he didn't have a choice. He'd do what they asked of him to live.
With each thought of Michael, the fresh memory of Bellatrix's letter, and the ever fresher words Michael had written, Steve grew angrier and his temper flared. He wanted to do something, anything. Seeing a vase full of flowers, he picked it up and threw it at the wall. Steve felt a sense of satisfaction when it smashed into a million tiny pieces. With another roar, Steve picked up a paper weight and whipped it at the wall. It didn't smash like the vase, but it did put a solid dent into the wall. Steve hardly noticed when Rose entered the room.
