Who: Lee Jordan and Oliver Wood. When: September 12th 2000. Where: The backroom of Barry's Broomsticks a run-down second hand broomstick shop | Diagon Alley. Rating: TBD. Warnings: None so far. Summary: Lee and Oliver plan to make a pirate radio show to support the rebellion. Of course, first of all they need to build a transmitter. Status: Closed. In progress.
There. He was gone. Barry Bartlemy, owner of Barry's Broomsticks and Oliver's employer, was finally out of sight, leaving the Scot to close up the shop for the day. Oliver's gaze followed the man until he was truly gone, then he went back into the shop. It was the backroom and the adjourning garbage dump that were of interest to Oliver now. He had warded the place to the bet of his ability, casting Silencing Charms all around the place, so he and Lee would be able to talk without being overheard.
Oliver counted himself lucky that Lee was willing to take the risk of building a radio transmitter in the first place. Merlin knew, if they were caught Azkaban would be the kind and welcoming alternative compared to what was in store for them. And yet, clearly neither of them was able to sit by and do nothing. A determined smile tugged on Oliver's lips as he thought of their project. This might actually work, he told himself. This might actually unite those people who privately felt that You-Know-Who was wrong, but who felt too isolated and helpless to do something on their own. It might actually work to give people hope and possibly – only possibly – it might inspire more people to resist the Death Eaters actively.
The smile still firmly on his face, Oliver resumed his place by the window and watched the street, waiting for Lee. He felt as if he was back in the rebellion-business and Merlin, it felt great!
