Eleanor's brows rose, surprised at the comparison between work and hunting. It brought up some gruesome and possibly accurate images and for once she would rather pretend that she didn't know what it was that he did. Swallowing down the bile that threatened to rise in the back of her throat she chose not to comment on his comparison. "Fox hunting?" she asked, almost to be sure, and was ashamed at the childish tone in her voice. She was not in any way interested in the hunting of human beings, muggle or otherwise. She did not agree with being married to a death eater but she agreed less with becoming one.
His comment on bullshit certainly warmed her though and she gave a small laugh, a half smile. "I wish Miss Parkinson had such inclinations," she commented easily, though she was intent on not outwardly trashing the girl any further. She wanted to ask if Terence cared for he as little as she did but Slytherins were never very forward, she'd noticed. "Right now, more than anything I believe the right adjective would be overwhelmed. It is rare that I don't feel settled and grounded but under the current circumstances-" she gave a small nod of her head. "Thank you for the concern," though she was sure it was more so for his neck and the way she reflected on him than for any safety of her own. He didn't know her and she had no inclinations that he cared for her. Would he ever? She didn't even want to think about it right now.
Eleanor gave him a small, if a little forced smile. "I'll let you know, how's that?" she said, trying to be teasing. "Would you prefer to finish showing me around after dinner?" It was a hint, sure. She was enjoying his company more than she expected to but she was also grimy and felt horrified at what she was wearing. Vaugley she wondered if Emma had something remotely proper that would fit her in the closets.
"I assume she is welcome here then?" It would feel nice to have her friend around but she wasn't interested in randomly inviting people into his home. Part of her mind tried to tell her that it was her home as well but she couldn't seem to accept that.
