RP: First Times for Everything Who: Eleanor Branstone and Terence Higgs When: August 20, 2010 - Evening Where: Higgs Flat - London Rating: Low? Warnings: Crude? Summary: Eleanor comes "home"
Eleanor had been mildly optimistic around the time she was writing to Emma about Mr. Higgs being her cousin. That was around the same time she'd been discussing with Pansy. Quickly, both of those conversations degraded and left Eleanor in a frankly sour mood. When she got word that her betrothed would be picking her up that evening she started to be lifted again, if for no other reason than because she would have the opportunity to bathe. Why she was forced into such uncivilized conditions when she, nor her father, had put up resistance (her father being so cowardly as to join the Death Eaters) was completely and utterly beyond her. It was below her.
The small spark that seemed to light in her when she found out that she would be free again soon was quickly diminished when she was fetched for by an elf. Emma had said that her cousin was crass but she hadn't expected such a blatant disregard. She could never dream of being so rude, particularly to someone that she was supposed to spend the rest of her life with.
Obviously she couldn't just refuse to go with the elf on principle and even if he was rough around the edges, he had to be better than being in prison. When they arrived in the penthouse suite (by the view she was sure that was what it was) she was, frankly, surprised. It was nothing like the home she was raised in but she'd stayed in places like it on trips with her parents. There wasn't anyone in the room with her and she walked forward to the line of windows, just looking out over the city. London. She felt better at least knowing where she was. The flat smelled like boy. The good kind of boy. She remembered the scent from studying with guys and they would lean over to check her nots or accidentally brush against her in the halls. She never let it show, but she did love that smell, even if it told her that he was a perpetual bachelor.
Turning around in the room she realized she never asked Emma for more details. Like what year Terence Higgs was in. Or if he was even mildly attractive. Taking a deep breath she started to feel nervous.
