He chuckled at Daphne and shrugged his shoulders. “You just know how much fun I’m going to have reminding her about how she promised her husband to be every pleasure and desire he wanted upon their wedding. And considering I’ve never heard of her husband, you know she’s going to just hate every moment of it.” Oh, he was highly amused by that.
Then, his attention shifted over toward Tracey again. “If I understand things, she got into this trouble because she’s been lying to everyone from day one.” Alex said with an arched eyebrow. “So now the powers that be don’t know if she can or can’t be trusted. Which might have been someone else’s idea, but now she has to pay for it. Just like you and Astoria are paying for your father, Daphne.” And because neither decided to pony up and choose a side, but he was going to leave that particular detail out.
He watched Tracey for a moment, before his lips curled into an amused smirk of his own. “Me. I’m the one that you have to prove yourself to, and who has to make sure you’re not doing anything stupid to get in trouble.” He shifted in his seat again, even as his arm curled to pull Daphne just a little closer to him as he grinned at Tracey. “You’re going to have to keep me happy, babe, and we both know how difficult it is to keep me happy.”
