In most cases Remus hated feeling like a helpless charity case, but coming from Tonks there was a loving quality behind it. The bowl of stew looked wonderful and he was sure it tasted the same.
"Just water is fine," Remus replied. He knew he could come back right away, but sometimes, honestly it was easier said than done. During the especially bad transformations he would be laid out on the floor of the forest, unable to apparate anywhere. Her kiss on his forehead was comforting, he just wanted to forget yesterday. "I know, Dora, but sometimes it takes more time to pull myself together, mentally if anything. Maybe I should just start using Wolfsbane...it would make everything easier." The biggest downside however was the pain at the beginning and the end was sometimes worse, due to the fact he was present mentally. It was a tricky trade off.
He took several bites of the stew. It was delicious, much better than the lingering taste of deer that had been with him the entire day.
"This is wonderful," he said through a half full mouth of food. "Really, wonderful."
He suddenly realized how hungry he actually was. It was remarkable how short of amount of time it had taken him to feel completely comfortable in the flat. He took a moment to slip out of his shoes but then continued eating, making a mental note that she could indeed cook somethings.
