Higgs loved having his own office and a new business. It meant he could have an excuse to not go home. He had tried to be nice to Eleanor, he really had but she was on his last nerve. He wasn't interested in her, not in the way she wanted. He was honest with her when he knew better and that was on him. Every time they talked she just had to keep bringing things up little things for no other purpose than to ruin the moment. She could pretend to want to work things out all she wanted but she kept nagging and bitching and he couldn't handle seventeen year olds.
Now he had to worry about his cousin. He knew her, he knew she believed the best in people and true love. She was going to fall for Tavish and the fuck was going to let her. He had to warn her, had to show her the truth so that she wasn't smacked with it later. He just wasn't sure how to do it. It would be easier if he could kill the fucking prick.
He looked up as someone walked in even though he had a pretty good idea who it was. "'Ello, love." He returned her kiss, pulling her down to sit on his lap.
