A soft bit of dry, humorless laughter came from her at her sister's question and for a moment she indulged in the memories she normally kept locked away and out of sight. Of times when the three of them used to sit up late at night and talk about how it would always be the three of them against the rest of the world. It didn't matter that they were girls and were supposed to be nothing more than pretty faces on the arms of powerful men. They were Black's and as such that placed them in a league all of their own far above the rest of the world and the normal rules didn't apply to them. They were going to have it all and together the three of them would rule over society but somehow, somewhere along the way the dreams they had had as children had started to unravel. They grew up, grew apart and things started to changed. Change happened so quickly that there were some days when Bella would indulge in denial and disbelief and claim that it was nothing more than a dream and that soon she would wake from this all to find that none of it had happened and that she and her sisters were still children locked away in a room in the manor laughing and giggling and planning without a care in the world.
They weren't children any longer though and the world wasn't a fairy tale or a dream that they could direct and dictate how it would be. Andromeda had strayed from her path, she had strayed from them and more importantly at least to Bella, she had strayed from Bella herself. Her disgrace and her leaving still struck a dark chord deep inside of her somewhere. It still stung and hurt and there was nothing Bella could do to get rid of it. Of all of them she felt that she had taken Andromeda's disgrace and leaving the hardest. As the oldest it had been her job to watch over her sisters and guide them and make sure that they stayed true to their beliefs and their family but somehow Andromeda had managed to slip through the cracks and Bella had failed horribly. There were few things in life that she would admit to failing at but Andromeda and later on Sirius, were two of those things that she knew she had failed at and there was nothing she do to change any of it. Both of them were now dead and gone and while the world still went on Bella still carried the guilt and hurt she felt over the both of them deep inside of her and she was fairly certain that she would never be rid of those feelings for as long as she lived.
"She abandoned the family, she abandoned us. Its an unforgivable act and no matter how one might feel, despite any feeling of guilt or loss or sadness one must remember that she chose her path. She willingly went down it knowing full well what lie ahead of her. We didn't force her hand, we didn't make her stray like she did. She did it of her own free will and as such anything that happened to her over the course of her life was of her own choosing and doing.
"Is this what I wanted for all of us? No, it is not. Not in the least is it what I wanted for us but whats done is done and there is nothing I or anyone else can do to change the past and the decisions people made that led them away from us. All we can now do is pick ourselves up, dust ourselves off and carry on as is expected of us to do. We are Black's first and foremost and we let nothing tear us down or break us. Nothing."
