Today's game had been a big one. She'd talked it up big since signing for the Harpies, about the day she'd help crush her fiance's team, and she was determined for this to be true. It was the one game she'd have considered cheating to win, but it did not come to that. After seven hours of the strong back to back scoring, the intense game left Angelina beat; yet, running on a natural high of endorphins from the flying and the victory both.
They'd done it. They'd won. Angelina had lost count of how many of the Harpies goals had been by her own hand, but she knew it was more than a modest few. This victory was much more thrilling than the last game, and still...
Undefeated. They were undefeated. Only two games in, but still, this was a streak she'd like to continue. Beaming with pride, and glistening from the sweat she'd worked up, Angelina brought her broom to a stop as she landed.
Angelina had a few things she needed or wanted to do before hitting the showers, among that list were the obligatory good game to the other team, the celebratory madness with her team which might include Angelina giving Higgs a very tight excited (and sweaty) hug, seeking out Alex (and Hannah) if he did attend this game as he said he would... and of course, gloating at her husband-to-be that Puddlemere lost and she had something to do with it.
Those were, at least, her intentions, but while the teams were telling each other "good game" it seemed her husband-to-be actually had something else in mind.
