INFERI ATTACK HOGWARTS!
Sources in Hogsmeade villiage and inside the Ministry of Magic have confirmed that a small army of animated corpses attacked the staff, reconstruction crews and former students residing within Hogwarts Castle late last night. How, exactly, this happened is unknown at this time. Officials of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement were dispatched as soon as word was received from the castle. Defenders on-site, all veterans of the suppression of Lord Voldemort's attempted coup, including Harry Potter, had contained the threat by the time Ministry re-enforcements arrived.
It is not known how the Inferi gained access to the castle. Horatio Petard, expert in defensive charms and wards, did note that the castle's magical defenses were not complete, when contacted by this newspaper for comment. Officials at the Ministry are not ruling out the involvement of persons with suspect family connections, though no individuals have been specified at this point. "It is important that we not convict individuals based on the unfortunate accident of their relations," said Mister Norman, head of the Department of Reconstruction. "We are certain that at least two individuals related to known Death Eaters, were active participants in the castle's defense." It is likely that the Secretary was referring to Mr. Theodore Nott, Jr. and Mr. Draco Malfoy, though neither was reached for comment. Theodore Anathaseus Nott, senior, is still at large and considered extremely dangerous. Lucius Malfoy is currently in custody in Azkaban Prison.
The identities of the casualties of the battle, and the identities of those unfortunates whose remains were reanimated, are being withheld by the ministry pending notification of the families.
QUIDDITCH SEASON TO RESUME SHORTLY
During the recent crisis, professional Quidditch matches were suspended in order to prevent possible disastrous attacks on large public gatherings, delaying the opening of the Quidditch season. However, the national sport of Wizarding Britian will return in two weeks time, with a pre-season charity event sponsored by the Zabini War Relief Foundation. Mr. Perigrin Parkinson, noted sponsor of several Quidditch clubs, is organizing the event, along with the Honorable Ms. Edwina Pitch, recently appointed head of the Department of Magical Games and Sports.
