Ron's rather comically shocked expression at her move made him open his mouth several times, and in a scandalized voice that his mother would love, he said, "Hermione, what are you doing?"
Her skin was warm, and her heart was beating wildly under his touch, but he couldn't really touch her the way he wanted to right now. Her words were beating against his own inside his head and there was a torn look on his face that he tried to hide from her perceptive eyes.
"I love you too, Hermione," he whispered against her, closing his eyes before he did something girly like cry. "I know I can't control him, and I don't really want to. I just don't want to lose him, not now. He's my brother too."
