Hermione had been awake, truly, listening to every word the boys said. She was lying very close to Ron, nearly touching him in her position, and she felt tears prick her eyes at the mentioned deaths and, especially, the unmentioned one. Fred. Fred was gone forever...
Ron was being stupid, blaming himself, she thought, and she waited for a few moments before she finally reached out and lay her warm hands on Ron's chest when he turned away from Harry. Her brown eyes opened just a little and she looked into his face, holding her tears at bay as she slid his arm around his middle and pressed completely against him, her breasts pressing against his chest. She looked at Harry over his shoulder.
"I love you both." Her voice was tremulous and sweet, hardly a whisper in Ron's ear but loud enough for Harry to hear. "And we can't feel guilty, or it'll bother us forever...I don't want to be bothered by this forever."
