Back to Malfoy! Who: Harry Potter and Draco Malfoy When: May 23rd, 1998, midday Where: Entrance Hall, Hogwarts What: Now Harry goes back to tell Malfoy! Notes: ...More on this weird twist of ours! Status: Complete
Just when Harry finished talking with Ron, he saw Malfoy leaving the Great Hall, and he guessed it would be best to talk to him about the new plan while it was still fresh in his mind. He smiled at Ron before he walked over to meet Malfoy.
Draco saw Potter coming and waited for him. He glanced guardedly toward Ron but focused on the man approaching him.
"Malfoy," Harry said, nodding at him. "Can I talk to you for a bit?"
"Yes, we should ... talk, to figure this out," Draco agreed. Gesturing to the side, away from others.
Harry walked away from the others and stood against the wall, thinking about how he was going tell Malfoy about Ron.
"I told my mother about your plan," Draco said.
"Is she okay with it?" Harry asked, thinking that maybe he wouldn't even need to tell him about Ron if he wasn't allowed to.
"She has concerns about my safety but she has accepted my decision," Draco said quietly.
Harry raised an eyebrow at that, his head tilting to the side. "I'll keep you safe."
Draco wanted to reply that he could take care of himself. But that had been shown to not be as true as he would like it. He arched an eyebrow but continued on. "So the decree says we have to be out of here today. I have never looked for a flat before, but I suppose it takes more than a few hours to find one."
"Yeah, probably. We should leave soon." Harry glanced around, remembering the reason why he wanted to talk to him again. "Oh, and Ron's joining us. It'll be helpful, to have another person to help with the payment." He paused, looking at him for a long quiet moment. "...I know you two don't get along, but he promised to be tolerant if you are..."
Draco blinked and then frowned. "You didn't mention this before," he said accusingly.
"Because I talked to you about it first," Harry said, looking apologetic.
"You honestly expect me to share living quarters with... Ronald Weasley?" Draco asked, face flushed now.
"You expected to share them with me, right?" Harry asked. "You still are."
"Yes, but..." Draco stammered.
"I promise it won't be bad," Harry insisted, nodding. "And if you really don't want to try..."
"Potter, I already told my mother," Draco hissed.
Harry sighed, running a hand through his hair. He was hoping that Malfoy would've been a little bit more okay with this. "Can't you just be tolerant of him? It's worked with me and you."
Draco could in no way explain that difference to Potter. "Do I have a choice?" he asked sullenly.
"Not...really," Harry admitted, looking sorry again. "I really won't be as bad as you're probably think it'll be now...."
Draco's eyes narrowed and his jaw clenched. After a minute, he took a deep breath. "I get the best room and my mother has asked to decorate the place," he said.
Harry grinned, holding his hand out for Malfoy to shake. "Deal."
Draco huffed but took Potter's hand, nodding. He tried to ignore his body's reaction to touching the man.
