Daphne let her arms drop before brushing some hair out of her face, now looking away from him as she heard him talk. Motherly? Looking like she was scolding him looked motherly? That may have been a good thing. Still, he made it seem like he was laughing at her and she didn't like being laughed at. She pouted some before letting it go, holding up one hand, letting him know she understood.
Finally, after sighing, Daphne moved over to the couch and plopped down next to him, looking over at him some what surprised. "You were thinking about it?" she asked in a mousy tone, hoping he was thinking about it in a good way. "And I looked motherly?" she gave one of those wishful smiles before taking his hands in her own.
"I'm sorry for lying about it, and now just throwing it out there. I just really think I'm ready."
