Daphne sighed. At least they had ceased talking for a bit. This wasn't how she wanted the night to end. She wanted to be entwined with his body in their bed, content smiles on both faces as they held each other. But no. That was too much to ask for since Daphne obviously didn't know how to keep her mouth shut. If she didn't sound sincere enough for him, then she didn't care. Sooner or later, they'd get over this but for the evening, her whole mood was ruined. So much for his surprise.
Turning her head towards his, she rested her forehead against his once more, kissing him gently. "I'm sorry," she mumbled. She was sorry, she didn't mean to ruin this. "I really missed you while I was gone. I thought I was going to go crazy without you," she admitted, her arms tightening around his as he held her.
"I couldn't wait to come back here and prove to you that I missed you, but I ruined everything by opening my mouth. Again."
