Wayne couldn't exactly say things were going either good or bad...they were....awkward. That was probably the best way to put it. With the new legislation he and Ginny were now living together. It hadn't sounded like a bad thing before they were married. Technically, it wasn't a bad thing now that they were married. It was just...different. He wasn't used to having someone else in the house. He wasn't used to coming home to find someone there. He wasn't used to leaving someone behind in the morning. It had always just been him. He hadn't minded being on his own, in all honesty, and there had been times over the past couple days when he'd missed that. He was having to remind himself to take a towel with him to the shower and not walk around as he pleased....that was the last thing he needed. Things were awkward enough as it was.
The Pub was probably the one thing helping them ease into this marriage. It offered Wayne a place to go when he was feeling the tension or the awkwardness. He tried his hardest to face it, but there were times when he was just too tired to put forth the effort and he'd escape to the Pub for a little while. The trip in the fresh air helped him calm his nerves and the time spent around those he'd grown up with was comforting. Ginny wasn't a horrible person to live with. She was actually rather pleasant...he figured the problem was himself. He just didn't know how to handle another person. His actions affected her and he often forgot that. It suddenly felt that he had to be careful about everything he did and sometimes the stress of that was more then he could handle.
Tonight had not been one of the nights he had a need to escape. It had simply worked out that he was working the closing shift at the Pub, which meant he had a good four more hours before the last of his patrons stumbled out his door and safely home.
