No, no. He did make her life easier. The fights were hard, but he made coming home from work worth it. And he gave her a reason to feel pretty again. He wasn't judgemental and he was extraordinarily kind to her. Daphne couldn't, and wouldn't, have asked for anything more. He made her fall for the things he did for her and she would never forget that.
Once she was settled away with her tea and he looked down at her, Daphne would've offered a smile, though she knew the frown on his face was only in response to her question. She thought it was legit after all this, but at the same time, he would have been gone if he didn't love her. At least she did something right.
Once his lips met hers, she was fully reassured that he still loved her and that he wasn't going anywhere anytime soon. That was good, she really needed to know these things. A small smile was given as they kissed. Maybe their last night together wouldn't be so bad after all.
