Saoirse had spent the day doing things around the house. She had left briefly to get some groceries and had thankfully come back not to find Marcus there. She knew they'd be living together but at the present time she didn't like the thought of him being there by himself. She cleaned up and even rearranged the furniture in her living room, the setup had been bugging her lately. The piano was pushed up by the window, a spot she thought was much better. Sunlight would light up her music now.
As the day wore on and it looked as if Marcus wasn't going to show up, Saoirse baked a loaf of soda bread and put some homemade soup into a pot, ready to heat up when she felt like eating. All of it was enough to take her mind off of everything for a little but once she had the laundry hung up to dry and nothing left to do, she couldn't really not think about it anymore.
Here she was, about to marry Marcus, and still in love with Palmer. Marcus was handsome, yes. Witch Weekly had said she was one of the luckiest girls in the British Isles to be matched to him. But couldn't they see that a cruel person on the field was also a cruel person off of it? Though it did surprise her, the thought that seemed to be put into her engagement ring. She just couldn't get over how intent he seemed to be on putting her through hell. What had she done other than be the unlucky one to be paired with him?
And where did she stand with Palmer? She thought about that as she climbed the stairs to change into something comfortable. They were both paired off, but they'd spent that amazing night together. She hadn't meant for that to happen, but it was just so--right. She said she'd needed him. He said he was hers forever. And she just knew he loved her too, could feel it.
She sighed and headed back downstairs. The night hadn't quite fully fallen yet, the eerie blue glow hung over everything as she looked outside. It was so inviting. She put her stereo on her little table outside and turned it on. Her white dress blew in the wind as she danced and spun, her arms out to the sides. Anyone who came upon her may have had to look twice. With her moon pale skin, tiny stature and white flowing dress, she looked very fey and could have been mistaken for one of the beings her country was known for.
At least she hadn't had to deal with Marcus today. Still spinning, she closed her eyes, face upturned, and smiled.
