There was always a sense of rebellion resting just under the surface of someone who was very intent on doing the sensible thing. It would have been a great catharsis to openly oppose the Ministry and his new, exhaustingly frustrating, wife. Still, Theodore was irritatingly understanding of the situation he found himself in and couldn’t bring himself to venture out and expend the energy on a fruitless endeavor. That was why at approximately three in the afternoon he found himself standing outside of St. Mungo’s waiting for the woman he hadn’t come into visible contact with since they were forced to exchange vows.
Theo would have chosen hundreds of different things to do instead of standing about in anticipation of that damnable woman. As far as he was concerned he could be sitting in the Department of Mysteries getting something useful done, maybe bettering the world they were living in but of course the Ministry decided to be quite intolerable and make families (ones that didn’t like each other) a top priority. He sighed and leaned back against the building, eyes cast skyward.
A great deal of anxiety had surfaced since the announcement of the marriage. It had dissipated once the ceremony was over and they’d gone their separate ways but now it was revived again in full force. There was no getting along with Demelza and no sympathy from the Ministry for Theo who absolutely hated the idea of letting people invade his personal space.
