WHO: Daphne and Harry
WHERE: HOME
WHEN: Middledayish
RATING: TBD
STATUS: complete/closed

It was nice to finally get things underway with the move. Sure, they had picked a Friday to do it, but it was also a better plan to have a three day weekend and using it to get things moved than try to fit it all into two days. Plus, with as much stuff as Daphne had, it would take her two out of three days just to unpack it, probably more to put everything up. She really needed to downsize, but the truth was, she didn't want to. Out side she heard the yipping bark of Quibbler and rolled her eyes as she plopped down onto the sofa. The whole drawing room was a mess, everything was surrounded by boxes and bags and shelves and things hovered for a lack of places to be set. It was a bloody mess.

Daphne felt buried as she sprawled out on the couch for a moment to rest. She had a glass of iced tea some place, though she couldn't remember where. There was a flutter of wings and she peered over at the owl sitting on top of a book case. Early birthday present/late wedding gift for Harry. She didn't know if he had one or not, but she figured they could make due with one eventually. It sat on top of the book case and blinked pridefully at Daphne. She had purchased it in an excursion earlier in the day and had to hide it from Harry. Now was as good as a time as any to reveal the gift, though she actually didn't have the slightest idea to where he was. No worries, he was probably surrounded by a sea of nothing just as she was. And the unfortunate part was that she hadn't even made it to her bedroom to put things away. Idly, she hoped her closets would be big enough.

Sighing, she shut her eyes and yawned. It was only noon and she was exhausted. Luckily they had magic to do all the real work.

Harry, for his part, was finding himself just as lost in the sea of boxes. His were marked so he knew whose were whose and where said boxes were suppose to go. It had seemed like a good idea at the time....unfortunately, that time didn't last. Now, he was just confused, which he supposed wasn't that surprising but it was still bloody annoying. If he had ever wondered why he'd just stayed put in his apartment for the past two years, he certainly knew now. Moving was a complete pain in the arse.

After a half an hour of trying to wade through boxes, he had grown quite tired of looking at the bloody things. Instead, he figured he'd go and see how Daphne was doing. Coming around the corner into the living room landed him with a box in his face. "Bloody hell." he muttered, pushing the box to the side and side stepping the ones just inside the doorway. An immediate glance around the room didn't lead to him finding Daphne, but there was a glass of ice tea sitting on a stray box so she had to be somewhere among all the towers of stuff.

Grabbing the glass, he started to work his way through, eventually spotting Daphne's foot sticking past the arm of the couch. "Don't tell me you've given up already?" he asked, his voice light and teasing. Stepping up to the couch, he leaned against the back, peering down at Daphne.

Daphne certainly had given up. And what was bloody stupid about this whole thing was that she had more clothing and trinkets than she knew what to do with. Honestly, she should have just left it at her parents'. On top of that, half of the furniture they had received were gifts from her relatives, wishing her and Harry luck with the move. Apparently it was bad luck that they had been wished.

She heard a curse from her husband and while it seemed a mile away, she knew he must have found his way into the living room. A small grin slipped into play and as soon as he approached, she looked up at him. "Of course I have. I hate moving." She gave a pout and sat up, making room for him on the couch. "The only room I've just about got finished is the kitchen." It wasn't as if she cooked, so she really didn't have much to put in there. Eventually they'd have to go food shopping unless they planned on eating out every day for the rest of their lives.

"How're you getting along so far? Much better than me, I would imagine."

Harry couldn't really blame her for giving up. He had after all. There was just way too much stuff and he really didn't have the patience to deal with all of it at once. Coming around the edge of the couch, he took up the spot beside her, handing her the glass of ice tea he'd picked up on his travels. "I believe this is yours."

Harry shrugged. "No, I can't say it's much better in there then it is in here." he admitted. In fact...it probably looked about the same. He'd opened some of the boxes, but hadn't actually taken any of the items out of the boxes. "I think we have too much stuff and not enough places to put it all."

Harry didn't even want to think of all the stuff they still had to do. Unpack, organize, go food shopping...the list was endless. "This is going to take us a month to actually complete." he finally said, glancing around them. Boxes, boxes, and more bloody boxes.

She actually didn't want to even think about it. But if they didn't at least get some done by the evening, they'd have no place to sit and no place to sleep. "We should at least finish this room and the bedroom. I mean, we're going to need to sleep eventually," she said with a shrug. Things like this normally took time, but Daphne was the type of person who'd realize what a mess someplace was and clean it until it was perfect. Eventually she'd get a second wind and pull an all nighter making the house absolutely perfect.

When he handed her her iced tea, she honestly could have attacked him with hugs for finding it. "You know, I set this down twenty minutes ago and I completely forgot where. I figured it just got up and walked off," she said with a shrug, taking a big sip of it. Daphne was dying of thirst and the tea definitely helped in all the best ways.

"Well, before we can actually put things away, I have a present for you," she said with a coy smile, setting her iced tea down on the floor. A quick whistle was given and a rather large barn owl swooped down from the book case and landed on Daphne's arm as she held it out. "Dunno how you didn't see him staring at you from the corner. He's been anticipating your entrance into this room," she said with a laugh, petting the bird gently on his chest.

"No, you left it on one of the boxes near the door." Harry chuckled, nudging a box with his foot. He had the strange urge to kick it but he wasn't sure what was in the box or whose stuff it was. He wasn't about to kick a box full of Daphne's stuff. He wasn't stupid.

"A present?" he barely had enough time to mutter the surprised question, before she whistled and the surprise was rather obvious. He had certain mixed feelings about the present. On one hand the illogical criticism of it not being Hedwig was there, lingering in the background. On the other hand, he missed having an owl around. And this particular one looked like he was going to enjoy staying with them.

Holding out a hand, he let the bird come closer and nip lightly at his fingers before he smoothed out some of the owl's soft feathers. "Does he have a name already?" he asked, tearing his eyes away from the animal and back to Daphne.

Daphne shrugged. She really didn't remember putting it anywhere, but she knew it was someplace and probably in close proximity. She just had a habit of losing things that she put someplace specific so she wouldn't lose them at all. Funny how life worked that way.

She watched quietly as he became acclimated with the owl and smiled. The owl was younger but of large proportion and it did tend to bite, though only when provoked. "Nope, no name. That's your decision," she said with a smile, crossing her legs as she watched them. It was one of the few things she felt she could do for Harry for being a pretty damned good spouse so far in this little adventure of theirs.

"Hmm," he pondered. He couldn't even remember how he had decided on Hedwig's name. He'd never really had to name anything else, so past experience certainly wasn't going to help him in this situation. He hadn't had much exposure to Muggle literature, but from what he knew of it, he could recall a couple of names that stuck in his mind.

"Athos? Othello? Apollo? Leo? Alrick? Porthos? Ares?" he rambled off, raising an eyebrow to Daphne. "I don't know where I'm pulling all these names from but what do you think? Like any of them?"

Pausing for a moment he grinned. "Or....we could call him Henry the VII?" he added, with a laugh. "And hope he doesn't plan on taking a wife."

A blink was given as Harry began to name off names that he was seemingly pulling out of nowhere. She listened, though grimaced at some of the names he was throwing out. Honestly! He was so uncreative and unoriginal. She stared at him until he asked if she liked any of them. "Not really," she said, amused.

However, when he threw Henry VIII in there, she grinned. "I think Henry would suit him well." She looked at the bird and grinned. "Yes, definitely a Henry. A Henry that cannot have a wife."

Harry shrugged when she said that she didn't like any of his names. Well, he certainly wasn't insulted. He had no idea what to name an owl...a male owl. He was pretty sure he'd just gotten lucky the last time. "I don't know. Those were the first ones to pop up."

He grinned at the choice of Henry. Well, the owl didn't seem to mind it by the looks of it. "Works for me. Henry it is." In regards to a wife, he could agree but there were certain things that would be amusing. "Alright, he can't have a wife, but I think we should by a mouse, name her Anne and then let it loose in the house just to see if he lives up to his name."

He was glad Hermione wasn't any where near, because he was pretty sure he would have gotten a slap for that one. Cruelty to animals and all that. It wasn't as though he would actually do it. It was just amusing to imagine is all.

Henry definitely worked for the owl. Well, it was better than Othello, really. Not that she had a problem with Shakespeare, but it was awkward to have so many Shakespearian named owls flying around. Henry was good. He was sure to be a well respected owl. Probably a bit of a player in the owl playing field, too. Why that popped into Daphne's head, she had no idea.

A loud gasp was given to Harry as he mentioned buying a mouse and naming it Anne. Lightly, she slapped his arm, pushing him a little. "That's so mean, Harry. That will not happen in my house!" She exclaimed, taking good old Henry and putting him on the book case again. Poor bird didn't have a perch yet so a book case would have to do. "You have no more owl privileges for today!" she said, flopping down onto the couch once more.

Harry laughed, watching her as she took Henry over to the book case and away from him. "Alright, what if I let it go in the back yard. I'm sure Henry's got great eyesight. He'd see her a mile away." he offered, with a smirk. "A beheading would be the least of her worries."

After taking a moment to laugh at the image he'd created, he added. "Alight, I'll be good and I promise not to feed mice named Anne to Henry....but what about Catherine? TEchnically, Henry didn't kill her."

Alright, so maybe he was getting far too much of a kick out of this. It was a bit morbid after all. Who knew, perhaps being hit with a dark curse twice in one lifetime did have a negative affect on one's brain? Who knew! "You really didn't have to get me anything, but thank you, none the less."

Daphne narrowed her eyes at him playfully before laughing and laying back against the arm of the couch. She could have gone for a nap then, or even a really long bubble bath, it didn't matter, just something other than sitting in a box pit. She was definitely amused by this conversation, but yes, it was slightly morbid.

"Harry!" she exclaimed, giving him a nudge with her foot. She didn't mind the conversation at all, it kept her mind occupied and away from thoughts of moving. ugh even just thoughts haunted her. "Yes I did," she said with a smirk. "You're my husband and I'm going to do things for you."

"What? It's a perfectly good question!" Harry laughed. As morbid as it was, he was amused by their sudden conversation. It was completely unexpected and much needed. Working was only good if you got to take a break every now and again...though, he suppose he hadn't really been working before this. Not unless you counted shifting around boxes as working.

When she leaned back, Harry shifted forward, placing a hand on either side of her and raising an eyebrow. "I do believe that street goes both ways." he smiled, closing the distance between them for a moment and brushing a light kiss against her lips. "So you can expect me to compliment your action with an action of my own."

Removing his hands, he sat back to his original position. "It will happen when you're least expecting it." he added, with a grin. He had no idea what that 'thing' would be yet, but she didn't need to know that.

Daphne just rolled her eyes, laughing quietly. What an awkward conversation to have, but amusing and morbid and just all around fun to say the least. Plus, it was definitely more fun that debating on where to put an end table or where these candles went. Honestly, they had so much stuff.

When Harry moved in on her, Daphne was actually slightly taken aback. Out of all the people, Harry was being coy and sexy! She grinned and returned the kiss, though she wouldn't have protested against a little more. "Oh yeah?" she questioned a little dumbstruck, though still coyly.

"And now that I should not be expecting it, I will be," she said, nodding slightly as she grinned at him. It was true and she was pretty convinced that things happened like that on a regular basis.

"Oh no," Harry smirked, leaning back against the opposite arm rest. "You won't see it coming at all. I'll have you know, I'm pretty sneaky. I have my ways."

Well...he used to be quite sneaky. One didn't learn the ins and outs of Hogwarts without learning a few tricks. Over the past year or so, he really hadn't had to be sneaky so he was a bit rusty, but he was more then capable of surprising her with something. First step? Figuring out how he was going to surprise her. At least he had a while to figure something out.

"Sooner or later you will let your guard down and that is when I'll get you. Don't worry, I'll be nice."

"Bring it, Potter," Daphne said challengingly, giving him a wicked smirk. She was willing to bet he couldn't surprise her at all. She figured she was always expecting something or another at all times. "And I will have you know that I can tell when someone is being sneaky. I was a Slytherin, remember? We're experts in sneakiness." Daphne laughed and made herself comfortable where she was, figuring she wouldn't be moving anytime soon.

"Plus, I definitely never let my guard down. Especially when my husband is a boy wonder. I have to keep it up at all times. Who knows what tricks you hold up those sleeves of yours," she said with a grin. Perhaps he was tricky and sneaky, Daphne had no idea, she was just talking to hear herself talk.

Shutting her eyes, she sighed contently and took in the beam of light coming in through the window, "I love this place."

Harry raised an amused eyebrow. He wasn't exactly the best at sneaking around...he may have stretched the truth on that a teeny tiny bit...or a whole lot...but he was going to give it his best shot. What fun would it be if he didn't.

"I think I passed the boy stage a while ago." he laughed, watching her. He found himself doing that a lot when he was with her over the past couple days. He didn't know why, really. He'd be in the middle of something, his attention would drift, and he'd end up catching himself watching her. Every time he'd shake his head and go back to what he had been doing only to find himself doing it again ten minutes later.

"It is nice." he admitted, a smile tugging at the corner of his lips. In all honesty, it much beyond nice. He'd rather enjoyed the location, the size, the space, everything really. It was much better then either of their apartments. He was very thankful to Daphne's parents for giving it to them. He knew they would both enjoy any time they spent here.

Part of Daphne was glad she didn't know what Harry was thinking. If she did, she had the sneaking suspicion that she would do more things to make him watch her or what have you. This way, she'd be able to be caught off guard and she'd probably love it. It would be like a fun competition for him to win and for only him to win.

Daphne grinned and looked at him. "Sure," she said in amusement. Of course he had passed the boy stage, but she just liked teasing. Daphne had always been that quiet girl who didn't outwardly crack jokes or make herself noticeable, but with Harry, she wasn't like that anymore. She was fun and care free. And from the stories she heard from her father, she was just like her mother whens he was Daphne's age. To be honest, that was something she enjoyed hearing.

"It's fabulous," she said with a grin. Daphne loved the country more than the city, even if it wasn't nearly as convenient. It wouldn't matter, though, they had the floo network in their home and apparating wasn't a problem at all.

Harry really couldn't remember very much about Daphne back at Hogwarts. His time and attention had been focused on so many other things that he really hadn't taken a moment to look around at those around him. When he tried hard, he thought he could catch a glimpse of her among Pansy's friends, but that was about it. At the time, his attention had strayed only to Malfoy, his two bodyguards and Pansy...but even that was only when it was forced to.

Whether she had been the same years before or not, really didn't seem to matter all that much to him. So far, this was the Daphne he'd been presented with and this was the Daphne he was growing comfortable with and looking forward to spending time with. If this was a new personality development, he certainly hoped it would stay.

"It's quiet, that's for sure." That was the one difference between the city and the country. Harry had always been in relatively populated areas, with the exception of Hogwarts...but sharing a dorm with several other people certainly wasn't the same as living with a single person where there wasn't the sound of vehicles outside, people in the hallway or anything else of the sort. "I think we should randomly make a lot of noise....just to break the quiet. For the most part I'll enjoy it, but I'm certainly not used to it."

To be honest, Daphne didn't want to be remembered for who she was in the years previous. She had changed a lot since then, not just because of her marriage, but because she knew there were certain aspects of her life that really needed working on, so she made sure she patched them up before moving onto a new project. If Harry was finding himself more and more comfortable, Daphne was glad to say that it was a successful mission completed on her part.

Sitting up, she stretched and rubbed her eyes gently. "Make a lot of noise?" she asked with a bemused expression on her face. "You're nutter. We'll scare all the animals out of here," she said with a laugh. "You'll find that the quiet is nice after so long. You'll be here for a couple of days, then once you're in the city again, you'll be dying to come home to the peace and quiet."

"Well, that's not the first time I've been called crazy," Harry laughed, amused and remaining in his reclined position. He was certainly in no hurry to move or get back to what he'd been doing before they're little break. "And I think we should make noise. It's very random and random usually means fun. Believe me, I know these things." he added, with a nod.

He didn't know these things and he was pretty sure that he was making no sense what's so ever, but he didn't care. She could call him on it. If she was smiling and distracted from the pain of unpacking, then it was a job well done.

Now, under normal circumstances, he would have saved this sort of teasing for Ron, who always seemed to walked head first into it, but when she said he'd want the peace and quiet of home, he just couldn't help himself. "Why, are you not going to be here?" he asked with a smirk and an eyebrow raised.

Daphne shook her head, laughing a bit. She wasn't going to make any noise, even if it made sense to do so. Instead, she'd just ignore this little bit of useless ridiculousness and go on with life as it was. Still, she laughed and looked at him like he was completely insane. "I can see why," she hissed playfully.

Yes, he was doing a very good job distracting her from the pain of unpacking. And the pain of doing anything else, really. She'd have it done by morning, but right now just wasn't the time to do it.

When he pulled his little joke on her, Daphne gasped loudly and threw a pillow at him before rolling over on his side and shunning him. Her arms crossed and she looked at the floor, a playful pout given. "I am not talking to you anymore," she said sharply, though still smirking.

Harry chuckled, quite amused as he caught the pillow she had thrown at him and watched her cross her arms and turn away from him. He never would have said anything of the sort if he had known it would offend her, but the two of them seemed to have a pretty easy going relationship, so he wasn't worried.

Finally moving, he pushed himself up out of his reclined position and took up the small space behind her, an arm moving to rest around her waist to prevent her from falling off the couch. "Now, you shouldn't lie like that." he teased, pulling back slightly from the edge. "It's bad karma." Seeing as they really weren't doing anything at the moment, he didn't see the reason why they couldn't just lounge about.

It was unusually hard to hold in a laugh, but she did her best, ignoring him playfully, her nose up in the air in the snottiest way possible as she continued pretending he wasn't even there. When he spoke, she said nothing in return, in fact, she didn't even acknowledge him.

Feeling him move on the couch, she watched him from the corner of her eye, grinning slightly as he moved behind her. She turned her head further away from him to hid her smirk, though it probably wasn't a job well done. Instead, she just wiggled in his arms slightly, doing her best to turn around and face him, a coy smirk on her face, though her lips pursed as she refused to speak.

Harry grinned, but loosened his arm to allow her to turn around with as much ease as their current positions would allow. When she was turned around completely, he let his arms settle back around her.

"Well," he started, pretending to take a moment to think about it, before grinning. "I've always been in the city which would lead one to believe that I like the chaos. I really don't think peace and quiet is my thing. I'd much prefer the chaos, so by all means, make as much noise as you like."

She stared at him, hands resting against his chest gently as they laid comfortably, or awkwardly, in their current positions. Her face softened, though she still held a smirk. He definitely just egged her on a bit. She wanted to scream as loud as she could right in his face, but she knew that just wouldn't be appropriate.

Tapping her fingers against his chest lightly, she thought of the next alternative. Yelling could work. A malicious grin was given and Daphne opened her mouth, tilted her head back and let out a vicious shout that had no specific need. When she was done, she looked back at him and smiled sweetly.

In all honesty he should have expected something and he did....though not until that malicious grin slid across her face and by that point it was really too late to prevent it. Okay...so perhaps saying as loud as you like had been a bad thing. Should have specified the octave below eardrum splitting.

When she'd finished, he shook his head. "There, you see," he responded, returning the sweet smile. "You can be loud enough for the both of us."

He figured he might not get away with that comment, but he made sure to lock his arm into place around her so she couldn't escape him and his teasing, though he wasn't going to continue in such a manner for much longer. You definitely had to know when enough was enough.

Again, Daphne gasped and instead of smacking him this time, she kneed him, though gently to prevent the loss of any specific organs in that general vicinity. "Git," she mumbled, laughing as she rested her forehead against his.

Another grin spread across her face and she kissed him gently. Now she was just going to be dirty. "You have no idea how loud I can be," she whispered, kissing him again, though this time biting his lower lip gently. She wouldn't push this, it was just fun at the time and now it was pretty much done with. He could think whatever he wanted to think.

Upon feeling her legs shift, he immediately felt a brief sense of panic. A panic that he was sure, at some point in their lives, all guys felt. The panic disappeared when the pain didn't follow. Well, that was just playing dirty.

His plan to prevent anything of the sort from happening was waylaid when she kissed him. Now you couldn't say Harry wasn't intelligent, but you could certainly say he had a full year pass to oblivious. Being distracted by Daphne's lips, her words didn't exactly penetrate into his conscious as easily and successfully as one would have liked.

"Yeah, I know." he responded with a smile, only when she had released his lower lip. "My ears are still ringing."

Daphne snorted as he spoke and tried not to make it too obvious. "Just wait, Harry," she said with a short laugh, kissing him again. He'll figure it out eventually. She had the slight feeling it'd dawn on him at the least appropriate time, but it didn't matter. The fact that he didn't get it just made her laugh some more.

She had a small sense of pride right then, stumping the great Harry Potter and also knowing that her couch was big enough for two bodies. That was honestly something that was good to know. At least in her eyes.

Her comment and laugh immediately sent warning bells off. He'd obviously missed something...unless this meant she was going to shout again...hopefully, that wasn't what she meant. Taking a moment to replay the conversation, her meaning ended up all but hitting him in the face. oh..

His focused back on her and he could feel the heat rise up his neck and his ears turn red. "That wasn't what I meant." he responded, as naturally as one could when they were blushing, which quite clearly wasn't at all easy. He really didn't know what to think about that particular topic.

Still, all Daphne could do was laugh. He was just so cute and she couldn't help it. She shrugged before grinning and kissing him on the tip of the nose. Now it was just time to lay there and do whatever. No more shouting or making fun or one another. She knew they'd have to get unpacking soon, but it still wasn't about to happen anyway.

"I know," she said softly, giving another quiet laugh. She felt a little bad making him blush like that, but it was just so darling in her opinion.

There were times Harry wished he really wasn't so much of a dork...the current moment was certainly one of those times, which only made the flush deepen upon realizing it. Of course she knew, he was the oblivious one. He always said he'd know the next time and every time, it always seemed to catch him off guard.

"That wasn't fair," he groaned, hiding his face in her shoulder and letting his free arm snake around her to join the other. He wasn't mad or embarrassed really. He didn't know what the big deal was talking about it, but he could never get rid of the blush when he did. George and Lee knew that well enough and proceeded to test it out whenever they had the chance. It was just one of those things that he had no control over.

Idly, she ran her fingers through his hair as he hid his face in her shoulder, kissing the top of his head gently. She cared very little about what he meant, she was only teasing and they both new that. A small smile stayed present on her face as she held him close in return to him putting his other arm around her.

"I know," she said coyly, though left it at that. They had their obvious differences in this situation, but Daphne didn't care about that at all. She just cared about him and letting him feel as comfortable as possible with her around.

As predicted it only took a moment for his skin to cool and the red flush to fade. He wanted an extra moment or two before pulling back slightly, simply because he could. Another aspect he often found himself surprised at remembering. He could hold her if he wanted to, or kiss her, or ... well, technically, he couldn't do any of those things whenever he wanted to. He could do those things if she let him.

Pulling back, he didn't go very far. They remained close enough that their noses brushed if the moved the right way. If she wanted him to be comfortable, she'd achieved that a while ago. Harry still had no idea why he seemed to trust her as easily as he did, but he wasn't going to question it. For now he was just going to go with the flow and see where it took him.

"We're not going to accomplish much today...not that I've accomplished much over the past couple days." he responded, taking a moment to steal a kiss. "You're such a distraction."

For all Daphne cared, it could have taken his skin an hour to cool off if it meant laying there with him longer. And just to think, this was only the couch. The bed had optimum room. Well, if they ended up ever using the same room rather than just one. It was funny to think that in just two short weeks they met, got married and moved in with each other. And the weird thing was, Daphne had no regrets. Not a single complaint and she was falling for him. If her plan that she revealed to Pansy was actually real, she would have failed, being the one who was falling. Thank god it wasn't a real plan.

"I'm your wife. I want to distract you," she whispered, kissing him back. She could think of thousands of ways to distract him, though she wouldn't pull such stunts on him so early on. "Harry," she whispered nervously, keeping close to him. "I think I'm falling in love with you," she admitted quietly, her eyes looking away from him, not wanting to see the fear in his eyes when he heard that. But it was true. Daphne sighed quietly, knowing that it was far too soon to tell him such a thing, but at least it was out there. And it wasn't every day Daphne went and admitted something like that.

Harry had frowned slightly, hearing the nervous quality his name had when she said it, but it wasn't to last very long once she confessed her feelings. He was quite glad she looked away when she had because he didn't want her to see the utterly dumbfounded look on his face. It could have very well given the wrong impression and he wanted a moment to figure out what impression he wanted it to have.

All he could do for a moment was blink and watch her. Given the circumstances they were in, he hadn't been expected that. He hadn't been expected to feel so comfortable with her let alone this....but he also couldn't find a part of him that didn't like hearing her confession. He had no idea where he currently was, but he was willing to explore it a bit.

It was a moment or two before he realized that he hadn't actually said anything and she was still looking away nervously, which probably wasn't doing anything for said nerves. "I don't know where I am when it comes to this," he started, leaning his forehead against her temple and hoping to find the right words to explain himself, "but I know I want to be the one you love."

She wasn't normally one of the nervous types. Daphne always had a lot of confidence in everything she did, but since she had really only been in one relationship and never had the chance to admit something like that, she didn't know the proper way to do it. Perhaps being so blunt wasn't the right way, but he needed to know. She figured in time, or at least she hoped, he'd find a way to feel the same, but even if he didn't, at least she knew that there'd always be something she felt toward him throughout the duration of their marriage.

An awkward wave of nervousness hit her and she got goosebumps, regardless of how hot it was outside, coming in through the open windows. A part of her was glad he didn't say anything right away. That at least meant he was somewhere between loving her and despising her. That was always a good place to be. When she heard he wanted to be the one she loved, Daphne smiled slightly, and closed her eyes contently, letting their body language make up for the lack of words. She buried her face into his shoulder as he did previously and smiled to herself. "You will be."

Harry let out a relieved breathe. It was obvious that those had been the right words. He had never been very good at expressing his feelings, preferring to keep them tucked away. In the current moment that course of action was no longer available. As he had said before, they were in this together, which meant every aspect.

When she shifted closer to him, his arms tightened slightly around her, keeping her there. This entire situation was constantly moving around them. It was complete chaos in all honesty, but despite what he had said about chaos, he was quite glad to have something solid in the midst of it all.
