I think I need someone to explain to me the appeal of Halloween. Between the teenagers in masks and the little children running around begging for candy I have a hard time finding any real joy in it. So the little ones are going to be hyper for the next few weeks and the teens will gloat about how they scared so and so badly and the adults will have parties where the punch bowl is spiked and they end up doing things they regret and hate themselves for...

From the bayous of New Orleans, to the streets of Seattle, not much changes. Still damp all the time, still dark and musty smelling, still surrounded by people.
I think I like it better here, though. Don't have to hide as much, and for once, I'm really free. Or as free as anyone ever can be.
I think that I'm getting better. Of course, having people who won't let me feel sorry for myself helps a bit. And the changes I've gone through are pretty visible. Maybe I'm going to be alright after all.

Third day observations:
-Bras hurt, when worn all day. It's more fun to go without.
-Skirts are breezy, especially when worn outdoors with smooth legs. Even if I knew this one, it's now socially acceptable to admit.
-Chocolate good.
-Free drinks at bars are even better.
Also, for the record: multiples? Still not old-hat. Definately still not old hat. Now I know why women take long showers. |

So, it's going to be a while before I can take up knitting due to the fact my lamb is not ready to give me sufficient wool...
I think I'm going to pick up an instrument of some sort. There are all these new instruments out there and it seems the cool kids are doing it so why can't an older fellow like me do it too? I just don't know what instrument. The guitar looks rather inviting. |

I must say, with that whole...disaster over I've finally begun to enjoy retirement. I've got fine wine, nice weather, comfortable chairs and gorgeous tourist women who come to try the wine.
