What is this place? This is not the England I know.

Your Grace, I beg of you, please explain.

Great Lady, I bid thee that thou wilst take a moment. Let me speak then, and be of service in this moment, that I might answer questions you ask in the best of ways, and speak freely, to aid thee now.

You may speak. Identify yourself.

I am Merlin, counselor to kings, ambassador to Avalon, and count of far Lyonesse. I bid thee welcome.

You have come through enchantment, Milady, and into a new world, not unlike our own, where time itself has sped like an arrow through the wind. But it has carried many so, and not just yourself or myself, but many thousands, all who speach to each other on this device of magicks known as a computer.

You are safe, or as safe as true days can make, here as you were there, then, save that none will know you, unless they have heard of your time, and your place in it.

Enchantments? Magicks? A new world?

You speak of witchcraft and wizardry for which one can be executed.

Not here, milady, for the world has changed. People do still distrust magick, but they do not kill men nor women for speaking of it. Those dark days are gone, and a time of more knowledge has come.

Prithee, Miladyy, will you grant me the boon of thy name?

And I swear to thee all I say is truth, spoken and done.

Then it is my very good fortune and favor to speak with thee, Your Highness.

I must tell you something that will not sit well. In speaking of time passed, much time has passed indeed.

England has changed, and many seats have sat upon the throne since your time, and Henry's. But your name is known, and remembered, by those who learn from history and lore.

Two thousand and EIGHT? That's impossible. All of this is impossible. I was on a scaffolding, about to lose my head-

Merlin? Tell me: Who reigns over England now?

Queen Elizabeth the Second, Queen of the Sixteen Realms, Head of the Commonwealth, Supreme Governor of the Church of England, Duke of Normandy, Lord of Mann, and Paramount Chief of Fiji. It is a very different time, your highness, and much has happened since when you walked this fair world.

I prithee understand, it may take sometime to get used to it, but this world is a good one.

Your daughter is even more reknowned as becoming Queen Elizabeth the first, and one of the most beloved of all queens of the known world. She extended the rule of England beyond what was known and is remembered in song, and heart as the Queen Mother.

You can be proud of her, your Highness.

Many no longer respect the royalty, for custom and right have changed so much that the world is different beyond all recall. And yet, to those who look, the majesty of thy line still stands.

And you too are remembered, your highness.

As all those things, and as a queen, and for how you would die in your end. You inspired songs, and the works of artists and writers, and were hailed as a hero, long after your death.

Your legacy lives, your Highness.

Bluntly speaking, you were taken by a vortex from England in the 1500s to England in 21st century-I'm going to assume you're still in the country, so feel free to correct me if you find out otherwise

you should find some identification on you somewhere and this [link] should explain the rest...

Let me rephrase that, it seems that any and all who 'show up here', replace someone from this realm and take their job.

Anne Boleyn?

Well damn...First Henry now you. Though, take this as you will, Henry's no longer King of England, but instead a Rockstar from a band called Whitehall-think a very glorified musician.

I've actually listened to some of their music and it's not bad.

I am Sonya Blade, Captain in the United States Army.
Though I'm sure the title means nothing to you.

No longer King? I heard of one Elizabeth the second.

A glorified musician. He's a very talented writer, as well. I am not surprised.

Yes, she's the current Monarch, and her son Prince Charles is next in line.

I heard he was, though in the history books, Henry VIII's known more for separating from the church, his wives, and his children, than his artistic talent.

His wives? One he separated from because she was a dried up husk of a woman and the other he had executed on false charges of treason and incest. That would be me. And yet, here I stand, head firmly attached and not intending to make the same mistakes as before.

The third Jane Seymour died ten days after giving birth to his only legit son ( how's that for irony). The fourth was the Duchess Anne of Cleves: that marriage was annulled because because it was more political than romantic-though Henry still liked her as a friend, even gave her the name of 'The King's Sister' after they split. His fifth was Katherine Howard, this poor girl was beheaded because it was found she was already married, though she kept denying it. Lastly, there was Katherine Parr. She only survived because the King died before she could be charged with anything.

As for that, you'll be glad to know that a woman doesn't have to get married to make a name for herself.

Oh, of course it is. And being taken by a huge blue twister and dropped off 500 years into the future is an every day occurrence..right. You keep telling yourself that, Lady Anne, I'm sure it'll come true someday.

By the way, I've been serving as an enlisted officer in my country's military for..going on eight years. Went through the same schooling as the male cadets and officers, and earned just as many scars.

You may as well just erase the word 'impossible' from your mental dictionary, because you're going to find yourself proven wrong many times over in this realm.

Captain Blade, if we're going by titles. Apologies if you thought I was being disrespectful. I'm only saying that it's not really a good idea to say something's impossible without looking it over. A lot's changed in 500 hundred years.

No doubt, from what I've read you were very learned at the time, and I mean that in a good way.

Lady Anne. With all I have been hearing about you recently, I think it was inevitable to encounter you in this place. If I have been told right, you know me well.

New station. Somewhere, in all these skirts, I've found a card that reads Anne Baylin. Publicist to- You. Henry Tudor. "King"?

*grins* Oh, this is good fortune. "King" is the name that fans of my music have given me. Whitehall, my band of musicians, is exceptionally well-loved. And it seems your position involves making sure that I continue to be well-loved.

You and I will be working very, very closely, Lady.
