Mervyn Pumpkinhead,

There once was a woman who lived in a shoe
The shoe was too small and she knew not what to do.
She had no age
And sisters? A few.

Yet she was lonely and wanted to skies, the flowers, the world.
And when she dreamed, she smiled
And when it turned into a nightmare, she fled.
Never to sleep again.

This woman had a friend that did not always understand her
And sometimes he said words she could not comprehend.
He spoke of love, and wonder, and hope.
She spoke of betrayals, anger,
blue

In this world, there were things the woman from a shoe
Could not do
Could not control
And as things changed
Sorry her bells did toll.

So one day she whispered to the wind
To take a trace or two to where he’d be to say that
If he doth tires of me,
She’d understand
But that she misses his presence in her land.
