I got tired of being so far away from civilization. I'm back in London for the time being.

Astarte, my love, I have no idea how you manage without going stir-crazy for city life.

What a pity, just when I'm undertaking to move to Paris.

Such a shame, a London without its lovely eccentric bookshop owner. Would you like a hand?

I honestly don't know if we need it, though we might need assistance warding the place when we're set up.

I would have done that regardless of your asking.

I can only hope you've got time enough to come have a drink with me. Moving in with Ikuko seems like an event which requires celebration over libations.

I can certainly do that.

Same place then, I'll give you an hour.

All right, I'll tell Iku where I'm headed.

I read a lot.

May I come with you?

I would be lost without you. By all means. It is no temple, but it is a comfortable little home.

I've lived in small homes before. Anywhere is home as long as you're there.

No room for lions, however. I'd feel badly to keep them so cooped up in such small quarters.

I must admit, I do blame the fact that I'm so partial to large cities on your glorious Uruk. Such focal points of humanity would not seem half as interesting if it weren't for my first introduction to them.

Oh, it's fine, I'll have someone look after them.

Truly? I admit, Uruk was lovely in its time. I miss her glory.

Indeed, and if it were not for Uruk's matron, I would not have found the city itself quite as enchanting. Perhaps the two of us can find ourselves knocking about in a market. Don't laugh - I'm partial to the mundane.

I'll cook for you, if you like. Nothing too complicated, but I do remember how.

I also managed to pick up a few baking skills from a friend a while back -- between the two of us, we might actually be able to make a full meal.

The world is utterly doomed.

Or at least our kitchen.

Maybe we should hire someone in advance to clean afterward.

... Or perhaps we should just eat out. It's just far less risky, and doesn't have quite the same potential of me lighting something on fire.

And since when would I argue a chance to have the most beautiful Goddess dressed in fine clothes at my arm?

When you have a chance to have her dressed in far less, obviously.

Thank you, Damien.

It's hard to stay isolated when you know you're missing out on the little and wondrous things that the world has to offer. I'll be the first to admit that I'd go out of my mind again if I were locked far away from the people that make this world so fascinating and ever-evolving.
