It has come to my attention that our favorite lady-captain's birthday is tomorrow, which also happens to be Mardi Gras, and I realize this is short notice, but we'll be throwing her a surprise party at the Guildhall [New Orleans address].

Jack, Bill, I'm leaving it up to you to bring her by, the usual time.
Everyone else: it's a potluck, bring a dish and some servingware, a present if you like, something to drink if you wouldn't. King cake and pralines will be provided for all.

I'm magic like that, sometimes, and I'm sure she's going to know something's up anyway, she's freaky-perceptive like that, but that's kind of part of the fun.
