Y'don't seem t'be understandin' me, Pops. Ma hated Daddy Kurt but Daddy Kurt always said he gave her 'a goddamn good way of it' when he used t'beat up on her. So he couldn't a been all that bad. But Mama made it end, and now y'all just act like you's friends but just friends don't got kids, do they?

I aint tryin' to be a pain or nothin', but I don't like hearin' her cry no more, Pop. Sometimes I think she just wants me t'go 'way.
