My first opera for this world is complete. A story of love, deception, illegitimacy... I can only hope it's well-received.

I drew on a few personal experiences for some scenes. With a life as varied as mine has been, you cannot blame me.

An opera? I do not suppose that you need musicians, do you?

I always have a need for musicians, Mademoiselle. Mostly to replace a few of the less talented players.

Well it just so happens that I play the piano, and getting audiences here is not what it used to be. Could I audition?

Of course. Simply give me notice whenever you wish to audition - the show is on at the Teatro La Fenice in Venice, and they rarely approve of sudden arrivals.

Or I could simply come to you. Whichever is easier, Mademoiselle.

Any time would be all right with me. Venice hm? I can get there, I think. I just have to figure out how. I will get someone to take me, do not worry.

Unless you prefer to come to London. I'm afraid I'm blind, so I need a driver to take me most places that I don't know very well.

Then I shall come to London for you. Venice is rarely a good place for the unprepared.

Thank you, that's very kind of you. I'm at [address]. Whenever is convenient for you.
