Peoples of the multiverse, due to a discussion I had earlier, I'm curious to find out if something I've always thought was true, is, in fact, truth.

Wherever you're from, are the women from the southern reaches purportedly more ferocious than their northerly sisters?

Only if the northerly sisters in question are really men.

So, where you're from, the women are feircer than the men in general? Or have I read that wrong?

In my experience, women from further north are more violent. Especially Glaswegian women.

Interesting. I'll have to factor that in, it may be one of those oppositional poles things, where people from the south hear that women from the north are harsher, and people from the north hear that women from the south are.

Maybe for some people. I mean, I'm from the north myself, but I still find northern women just the slightest bit scary...

Southerners, on the other hand, seem a lot more mild-mannered.

Interesting. Maybe it's sort of a poles versus equator sort of thing, the further to the poles the more ferocious, the closer to the middle the milder.

Well, I wasn't often called to the south where I'm from, but from what I've seen, I can tell you that most of the Southerlings would never make it in the north. Half of them refused to even believe how dangerous it is north of the Wall.

I'm starting to think that it's just an Earth thing where women from the south are the feirce ones and everywhere else it's the women from the north.

I think there might well be some truth to that.

I rather suspected you would. How have you been, Dustfinger?

I have been well, Meggie, and I hope you have been also.

Frankie and I are going on a cruise.

I think we will.

It was kind of spontaneous. I've never done anything like that before.

Spontaniety is the best way to do things like that. That's how you have a proper adventure of it.

I think so too.

What have you been up to, then?

Nothing terribly interesting, getting myself out there as a freelance librarian, got a job currently, working for a lawyer, getting his files organized, showing him how to keep them that way.

I'm glad you're keeping yourself busy, and out of trouble.

Well I wouldn't say I'm entirely keeping out of trouble, that would be dreadfully boring, but I'm not getting into any trouble I can't get myself out of again.

It amounts to the same thing. What I don't know, and all that.

As a Canadian woman, I feel moved to point out that our armed forces have included women in combat roles for several years now, while our neighbours to the south have not and do not.

Duly noted! I really am starting to think it's not so much a north vs. south as it is a poles vs. median sort of thing.

Very good, I'll have to add this to the board, I'm actually keeping track, just to see how things go. Though I'm starting to think it'll turn into more of a spatter chart than anything.

A spatter chart? Sounds like a Jackson Pollack kinda thing.

I think the actual title is a doppler chart, where there's clusters of the same thing across a much wider map.

You know, I really ought to factor big sisters in as their own category, from what I hear most of them are fairly ferocious.
