Oh, I've missed performing in the opera. Having adoring fans - real fans - is just wonderful.

Opera is one of the most elegant forms of art out there, but I hope you're not talking about Wagner's. Those plays are as dry as bones.

I'm glad to see somebody else appreciates the wonder of the opera.

Not Wagner, thankfully. We're performing Carmen.

Very much, though the pit doesn't get to see much of the show.

Whew. Carmen and Mozart's are plenty interesting to see.

But you can hear the show, at very least... and that's where most of the pleasure of the opera comes from. I know that well enough.

Too true, there is nothing like a singer whose range is broad and doesn't strain for the notes in the ledger lines.

Exactly. That way, even the blind can enjoy opera.

Chanteuse, after seeing some of the choices costumes designers make, the blind might have the best seat of the house.

Some of the outfits look good only out of sight.

Incredibly true. Half of the time, I'm afraid to stand anywhere near a spotlight for fear of blinding half the audience.

There have been times looking up to watch for cues has been... regretful.

And they say music isn't dangerous.
