My mother's powers are slightly more frightening, I think. But she won't hurt you. She's always been nice or distant to boys I know.

My father likes to try and scare all the boys I know away. But he won't hurt you, either... as long as you behave around him and don't give him reason to think you're taking advantage of me.

Really, you don't have to be afraid of either of them. You're just a boy who's a friend who's coming over for some food.
