I come by way of Maison Roberts, so he'll vouch I'm not a psychopath. You never know.

He said either you'd know where to find reasonably intact helicopters motors and chassis, or someone who'd know where to get them. I'm hoping for a more lightweight model with less stupid computer-bits, but beggars can't be choosers.

Thanks for any help.

Well! Well indeed... yes. Yes, I could find that for you. But to make it work... that will be something else. It may take time. A day... three... How soon do you need it? I must learn the basics of the sciences of flight in order to make it function correctly.

Uh.

I didn't think you'd have to make- I thought you might know a kosh salvageyard is all. I can make any machine work, that's not the problem, I just need the body for his flying bike.

Ah!

That is still, of course, possible. I am sorry I assumed... Well, yes, I do know where a helicopter can be acquired and will happily make the arrangements for you on one condition -- that I may be allowed to observe your work. I am infinitely taken with the technologies of this world and era. I would be greatly obliged if you would allow me to learn from you anything I can.

And I assumed that your trade would be more complicated and costly than just scavenging through a scrapper would be. We're even on wrong guesses.

Allowed to observe? I'll put a socket wrench in your hand if you want. I've finished teaching a one-armed Cromwell soldier how to ride a motorcycle, so I'm open to everything.

Complication is in the eye of the beholder, and cost is relative. The acquisition of certain knowledge can be worth more than gold.

Probably, true, but your profession is extraordinary to begin with.

Certain knowledge? Haha, I'll just give you the Greasemonkey rule of thumb: "If if moves and it shouldn't, use duct tape. It doesn't and it should, just keep hitting it."
