So. It's July, and I have yet to have a reason to hit the beach. Back home I'd have gone to Coney Island at least, probably Chesapeake Bay too, maybe even headed out to the other coast for the purely California beaches.

Uh, I guess this is my way of saying: 'hey, anybody want to hit the sand?'

I don't really mind as long as it's moving water. The one ocean I want to be in isn't here, so I'll take what I can get.

Okay, so water you can actually swim in. You have a preference as to sand? Fine? Coarse? Shell-y?

Shell-y and coarse, if we can get it. That'd be close to the Izabella's beaches.

Sure, there's a couple places in California that fit the bill, and one a little higher up towards Oregon, if you can stand the cooler weather.
