As Halloween gets nearer and nearer, I find myself reading and watching scarier things. You wouldn't believe the amount of ghost stories or unexplainable things STILL get to me, even if I know vampires and Hunters personally.
Does anyone have odd customs they do for All Hallow's eve that they'd like to tell me about? I'm trying to find different ideas, since Soren and I are going to be entertaining our girlfriends and it'll be a party atmosphere. Also, Halloween's my girlfriend's birthday, so any ideas for Halloween-themed birthday stuff would rock. |

Something I've discovered recently: Needlepoint is far far easier now than it was in my time. It's so simple, in fact, that it almost feels like cheating. Everything's already counted and sorted and color-coded, and I would imagine that crochet and knitting are much the same, though I haven't looked into those yet to keep myself busy.
It's strange, sometimes, that for the numbers of things that are made easier in this time that it includes things that were already quite simple. |

In light of today's uncertain financial markets, instead of investing in what you'd consider "normal" (banks, consumer good based businesses like chain stores or luxury good lines), consider investing in commodities like oil companies or even flat-out gold. They're only going to go up in value, as their need never really decreases.
