I never thought I'd say this, but I actually miss Steed. He had his uses, after all, and he was always ready with a bottle of champagne after a mission...

...Clearly, working for the government is a lot less glamorous now than it was in the sixties.

A butler, or a friend?

A very good friend, and a gentleman to boot.

Ah. Well, then you just need more friends, here.

I suppose I do. However, it's rather difficult to make friends when you're always off doing whatever the government tells you to do.

I understand that. However, it is much easier to communicate on the forum here, so perhaps a more distant friendship is possible?

Though distance and friendship don't really combine well.

I often forget how advanced this forum is. We certainly didn't have anything like this in the sixties.

They don't, but this world has those 'portkey' things. They rather remove the problems that distance introduces.

I understand what you mean completely.

This is true. My name is Integral, by the way. Sir Integral Hellsing.

You didn't have anything like this in your world either?

I'm Emma Peel. And I must say it's an honour and a pleasure to meet a 'sir'.

I suppose there was, but I had precious little time for it.

Please, it hardly even matters here. I'm just a businessperson here.

It might not matter to most people, but I was always taught that a Sir should be treated with respect and grace, no matter where he dwells.

I'm only guessing that train of logic expands to other worlds, of course.

I admit, I am used to a far different level of respect.

Thank you, Ms. Peel. It is a pleasure to meet you. Which government do you work for?

Some people just don't know the value of respect, I'm afraid.

The British government. I take jobs for them when they need something dealt with... it's far more difficult working alone than I ever thought it would be.

It's the way of the world.

What kind of work do you do? I am somewhat displeased with my own occupation, and would enjoy being reveled with stories of your adventures.

It's mostly dealing with people who they find troublesome - criminals and the like - and retrieving stolen or lost secret files. By far, dealing with the criminals is the most fun. Nobody ever expects me to be so... forceful, I suppose.

Ms. Peel, I like you already.

That does sound nice, actually. Much better than running a charity, though I doubt I would give it up.

Perhaps I shall simply have to be your vigilante partner?

Why, Sir Hellsing, I do believe I like you too.

I'd love a partner whilst I'm on the job, vigilante or not. The government certainly won't complain about it.

Then you'll simply have to inform me of your next job. And we should probably meet prior to that. Just to ensure the fact that we can work together.

Of course. My next job will most likely be to deal with another criminal, knowing the government as of late.

Whenever you want to meet up, there's a delightful bar near my flat - it's at [address]. If you want to show off any physical skills, I have a room permanently rented there for purposes like that.

Perhaps on Friday?

Friday's fine with me. I'll tell them to give any assignments to the other operatives on that day.

Perfect! I'll look forward to seeing you, then.
