Word travels at the speed of a snail so I just now realized that my daughter in law was just conceived a month or so ago?

So here's some helpful tips for the parents to be. It's actually quite helpful. Seriously.

You know, almost everyone I know is pregnant? Maybe I should join in the march of motherhood and get myself knocked up. There must be some sort of draw.

I bet Stitch would lick it a lot.

Now why would you want to go off and do that? You know you'd have help raising the kid and all, but Lilo, don't you think you'd want to have something of a stable life first.

And anyway, if you do get pregnant in the next... say, three months, I'll insist you name the kid Boxorox.

Actually, I'm pretty sure Cassie's going to be the one to give you all the grandkids. I'm not really the type. And I have him and all these other babies of people I know to hang out with and traumatize, why should I make more?

That's not - see, I'm just not very funny today.

I'm going to fry some ice cream.

You're welcome. How's it coming along? I'm sure Brenda's already got your number for all the mommy-to-be advice you'll ever need, but I'm pretty good for the other stuff. And by that, I can always make you some ginger cookies.

So far so good, about ten, ten and a half weeks along now, and I'd probably be freaking out a lot more if Henn wasn't already here to remind me that I do okay.

More ginger cookies would not go to waste.

You'll do fine. I think we all have our heebies about parenting, but I'm certain you'll be just fine. Henn's a great kid.

Yeah, she is. They all are, really, which confuses me. Who'd've thought I'd wind up with a well-rounded, smart kid who hangs out with like-minded people, huh?

It's got to have come from someone in your family. And I know your husband, and he's not exactly top of the barrel smart.

She gets the blunt from him more than me, and the stubborn. Who'm I kidding, she gets that from me.

I'm just going to chalk it up to cumulative genetics I think, less likely to give myself a headache that way.

Heh, yeah, cute tends to run in the family, I think. Or something like cute, anyway. I kind of fear for everyone around when she hits four or five and starts wanting things, and learns how to bargain.

Yeah, from what I hear Henn's always been a talker, she says she used to sing a lot, just about whatever was going on. I'm ... actually kind of looking forward to that.

That's adorable. I'd say that you should nurture that in the womb. They say the baby can hear things inside the womb. Not sure if that's all that true, but I'm prone to believing anything about babies.

I'm pretty sure you know the pirates, so are you going to be going to the Easter thing? I'll pass on a few billion books and stuff we've got setting around.

Music's kind of a constant around here, she'll probably be sick of it by the time she's born.

I'll be there provided I'm not A, barfing or B, asleep. Option two is actually the more likely.

And before Cass can reply with these words, I will at the risk of being noogied to death.

That would totally explain things.

I'm pretty sure I never sat in the fishtank, but I was always right up against it, apparently. This also explains things: namely, ohello school of puffers.

Oh! I entirely forgot that you kids' menagerie included puffers. Speaking of, I hear you're in the market for a petsitter for a few hours a day.

Heh, news sometimes travels faster than snail apparently, yeah, about three hours I think, give or take. I'll have to verify with Cass, he's the one who lined up the schedules.

He's the one that got a hold of me. I'm allergic to cats, but I'm sure a few hours a day won't be so bad. I'll just take some anti-allergin stuff.

You doing good over there, zygote?

That and we can always invest in one of those ionizer things, know it helped one of my college roommates with the dander allergies.

Five by five, no complaints.

Well there you go. That and I'm sure Cassidy wouldn't mind it, he's mildly allergic, as he's told me. He complained about it being spring last time we talked.

Good to hear. You know you lot are always welcome to come over and snag snacks, whatever snacks may be. I rarely see any of you in person.

I think he used to be worse, actually, I seem to remember that, I could be hallucinating though,

We really should visit everyone more, we just kind of suck at it. You all are going to Jack and Bill's Easter thingy, right?

Could be. My side is insanely allergic to everything.

Sure am. I'll be bringing a metric boatload of baked goods.

And the LeBeaus are pretty much allergy proof. Sometimes I get them when the weather starts getting cold and damp again, but I think that's more an acclimation thing than anything.

Good, we'll totally see you there then, if we don't see you before then.

Sounds awesome. Give me some of that mojo, please.

See you there, then. Hopefully the little Cassie will have fun this year, he's already good at finding things that are unintentionally hidden. He found about four bucks in change this weekend. He was apparently on a change hunt.

[info]not_that_henri

I might have already passed it on to Cass, kind of. Part of being his Shadow and all. The other thing I can suggest is local bee pollens, same roommate with the ionizer swore by the stuff, either in tea or on toast.

Hey, change is shiny and shiny = good. Therefore worth hunting for. And he's small enough to get under the furniture still, most people don't look there because they can't reach.
