Well at least nobody can say it's your fault then. Oh wait, you go to a school that teaches magic, don't you? Maybe that's their version of a prank. Magical melting lockers. In that case don't touch whatever slippery stuff was on the ground. Who knows what the hell that is.

Yeah. The replacement family, my job and my school were all pretty pissed that I skipped town without telling anyone.

But I wasn't going to sit around and get harassed by those bigots when I already had enemies to worry about. Didn't really have a choice.

Yeah. See, I can do certain things. And there's a group of people who can do the same things I can. And I don't get along so well with that group. If they knew where I was, they'd try to kill me. Or worse.

When the Purifiers came around, they already knew who I was and what I could do. Which is why I left. Didn't need that shit on top of everything else. Came back when it was safe.

Because of them, I was on the run from alien invaders on my homeworld. When I had nothing to lose, all I wanted was to make my own life, figure things out on my own. I wanted to leave, because I didn't trust them. They didn't trust me either. They threatened me. They threatened my family. So, to escape, my only choice was to hunt them down before they got to me. I failed. They made me turn into a rat permanently, and left me on a tiny island with only other rats for company. I was thirteen. For two years, I fought for my survival against nature. As a rat.

It's more complicated than that. Like I said, it's a very long story, which I'll tell in full if you want. But to answer your question, you don't have the ability to fuck up my life that badly. So no, you shouldn't be afraid.
