I have not done much research on this side of the vortex, no. However, back home my teams did extensive research into the procedures and technologies behind it. It was a controversial subject there as well, so we had to keep things relatively quiet, but we were 99% certain we could perform it with the technology available in 1985. Admittedly we had certain...advances that this Earth did not have then, and some that it still does not have.
However, there are some advances here that we didn't have, and my team tells me that after looking over the preliminary reports I have prepared there is quite a bit of promise.
What all this means is that I cannot perform the procedure tomorrow, but I may be able to do so within a few weeks. This all depends on my team doing a more thorough read-through of my reports, but they seem very hopeful.
