That was...unexpected. I highly doubt that was a normal tornado. Could someone perhaps shed a little light on this situation?

Uhm.

[website]. Careful, it's pretty... obnoxious. But the truth.

Welcome to Oz, man.

[ooc: And Hardison fanboys. So hard.]

My god, that thing is atrocious!

While this situation is perhaps a bit stranger than I'm used to, I don't doubt that it is possible.

Oz indeed. Is the calender on this computer correct? The date, according to this calender, is March 1st, 2009.

You know, I been thinkin' about makin' a new one, but haven't put the effort forward. It was like that when I got ehre.

A lot stranger than anything I'd seen, but then... 'guess I lived a sheltered life.

Sounds about right. I know I was put a few months in my future, so it happens a lot. If you're. Y'know. Displaced.

I would pay you an exorbitant sum of money if you did this. Anything to avoid looking at that absolute garbage again.

I became used to strange. I had...very interesting colleagues.

Displaced is putting it lightly. Still, things are making more sense now. Thank you for your aid, Mr...?

That might just be the motivation I need, man.

Oh, really? Anyone I'd know?

Hardison- just Hardison's fine. And you're welcome, Mr...?

How much would you like? I seem to have replaced someone with funds and income similar to what I had on my own world. What I mean to say here is pick a number and I will likely be able to write you a check right now.

If you are from another world, I doubt it.

Veidt. Adrian Veidt. It is a pleasure to meet you, Hardison.

Naw, I'm not gonna take your money, man. The idea's nice, but I could remake the thing in my sleep.

You never know. This place is strange like that.

I can safely say the pleasure's mine, Mr. Veidt.

Are you sure? I would consider such a thing a service to mankind, and such service should be rewarded.

I very much doubt any of them are around. With the personalities we had, it would be fairly obvious.

Same thing that happened to everybody else who got here, apparently.

Looks like somebody already showed you the eyesore, it's painfully bright, but so far as I can tell? It's the truth, like the man said.

This has happened to many others? Interesting.

Left with no other possibilities, I must believe the unbelievable. This is not the first time I've had to do that.

Thank you for your assistance.

Hey, newbies gotta look out for each other. Or something. Fuck if I know, haven't even been here twelve hours yet myself. Weird place.

I appreciate the sentiment. Too few people are willing to spare even a moment for another these days. All told, this has been a very good welcome, so far.

My name is Adrian. May I ask yours?

The name on my ID is Sophie, but most people call me Josie, since that's my actual name.

Where'd you end up? Apparently some people wind up in about the same situation they were in before. I'm one of those, just working freelance now instead of at a shop.

Josie it is, then. Unless you'd prefer Sophie.

Not I. I was down south, and now I am in New York. Not that this disturbs me, I am used to the city. Otherwise, my situation seems relatively similar, though the world seems a much brighter place than my own.

Josie works.

That's not so bad, I got dragged from Hong Kong to London. And do you mean brighter literally? Or more metaphorically? Because it's metaphorically brighter than where I'm from, at least so far.

Metaphorically. My world was fairly constantly under the threat of nuclear war.

I'm also relatively happy to see that I will no longer have to tolerate Richard Nixon.

I'm just glad I ain't got Division waiting for me to slip up so they can snap me up again.

... Wow did you ever get displaced. I think you win that one, my date stayed the same at least.

Snap you up? This Division sounds unpleasantly like organized crime.

Yes, twenty four years is quite a bit of time. Though it seems that Nixon was not president in 1985, in this version of Earth. It does answer a few questions, though.

Quite a bit like that, actually. Best form of organized crime ever. Government entity.

Hooboy, yeah, This isn't Kansas any more and these are not the droids you're looking for or something. You doing okay adjusting? I mean, sure it's only been an hour or two, but sometimes you can tell right off when things aren't going to settle.

Best form of organized crime. Ha! I like that.

I'm doing quite well. Knowing that I am not going to be vaporized at any second helps immensely, I think.

I'd like to say it's original to me, but it really ain't. Don't mean it's not true though.

Yeah, I can see how that would put a positive spin on the day, no matter what cropped up.

It certainly is true. Especially the government I remember.

Indeed it is. It brightens my day considerably to see that on some worlds, humanity has survived and even thrived past the point that my world would have fallen.

So this is probably going to be coming totally out of left field, but do you want to go get some coffee or something?

Believe me, after being transported to another world by a tornado, being asked to go out for coffee is absolutely normal.

I would love to. Would you like me to come to London, or would you prefer to come here? Either option is fine by me.

That's perfectly understandable. I'll tell you how it goes.

What address should I head to once I make it through this "port key" device?

I'd appreciate that. Hey, if you make it through alright, figure I will too, y'know?

Hang on, new address, have to look it up. [uptown address] That's me. I'm in one of the townhouses off the main complex.
