I don't suppose anyone knows where I can find a proper stationery shop in London? I misplaced my journals during the trip here, and I miss them.

I've been making do with a notebook and a packet of ball point pens that I got at the Tesco's, but I need a proper journal and a proper pen again. It feels odd not to have my volumes, I suppose I'll just have to start them up again, but not not until I have proper supplies to do it with.

You can try the Hassen's, down at [address], dependin' on what you mean by 'proper'. The place is a mite pricey, but it's where a lot of my friends get their supplies.

Thank you, I'll check it out. Basically I just want a book that's bound instead of taped together and not lined, perforated, three-hole pages. And so far as pens go I don't want a fountain pen, or a quill, but I adore the lePen brand, used to have one in every color.

They have lePens. And I'm sure they've got a book for you. Never heard someone say they weren't happy with the place.

You an author, too?

Sounds like a good place to get my collection started again, provided I can afford it on a librarian's salary.

Something like that, nothing published, mostly just keep track of things for my own sake.

It's worth it, or so I hear.

Oh, that's neat. M'boss is sort of the same way. Granted, his collection is to the point of needing a secretary just to keep it organized, but I can't complain. Gives me somethin' to do.

M'Sookie, by the way. Nice to meet you.

Well quality is always important. I'll have to head down there once they open.

I've got my own bookcase at my aunt's library, so far I've only managed to fill two shelves, which is five years to a shelf, so that's not bad, I think it helps that I don't write down every little thing, just the important parts.

I'm Meg, it's nice to meet you as well.

Should be a couple hours, 9am London time. Which is why I'm even up, now. Stupid screwy schedule.

Ah. That'd be why, then. He's had quite a while t'collect things. S'real interestin' to look back on some of it, though.

Nice to meet you, Meg. You new to the land of the crazies?

Just got here the day before last, so new enough that it's all still novel to me. This isn't the first time I've found myself somewhere completely unexpected, so I'm going with it for now, and my father's here, though nearly ten years younger than I remember, and an old friend, though he's in the same boat.

I'm also used to Italy time, so I'm only up a little earlier than I should be.

Ah. S'always easier when somethin' like this's happened to you before. It was right shocking to me, when I got here. S'alright, though. For the most part. M'glad you've got family and friends here. 'Helps.

Y'know, I never been to Italy. I hear it's gorgeous. Whereabouts are you from?

I'm from all over, traveled a lot when I was younger and even more now that I'm somewhat grown. Running on Italy-time comes from staying with my aunt though, she's got a house out in the countryside, even if I'm somewhere else I still have my watch set to Italy time, since I hardly ever pay attention to it anyway.

Oh. That's gotta be interestin'. I never left the same little corner of Louisiana, 'fore landin' here.

An' lately, I've been stickin' about the same block of London. I need t'change that.

Travel's good for the soul. Unexpected adventures even moreso.

Definitely need to get out of that habit, nothing good ever comes of being stuck in a rut like that.

I dunno how I'll ever manage, with a slave driver as a boss.

I'll have t'ask Bill f'one of his desc- relatives've got a guest house somewhere. S'got 'em all over.

I could at least start by leadin' you to th'shop, if you were interested. Ever used the portkeys?

can't be that bad, can it?

Sure, I'm all for company on outings, and I haven't used one yet, I just sort of... get places my own way.

Oh, sorry, you wouldn't- totally sarcasm. Bill's a doll. Done me every kindness since I been here, helpin' me get settled in.

Oh, f'you can get here by yourself, you can. Just figured I'd offer. They're not so bad, just a bit confusin', f'you've never done it before.

oh! Yeah, text is terrible for transferring tone.

I'll have to try one eventually, usually I just... this is going to sound odd, but I just write myself to wherever I need to be.

It is. Not to mention m'just bad at that, sometimes.

And honey, honest- I got friends here who were ones cars, or books, or boats. Gods and vampires an' all sorts'a things wander around like you or me. Don't worry about 'odd' so much.

Oh! I thought- didn't anybody explain everythin' to you? It's... yeah, it's pretty out there, but it's not bad. I mean, once you get past all the 'odd' stuff, things're a lot like any other Earth, or so I hear.

Well, there's a website, but I'm warnin' you right now, it's pretty awful t'look at.

[Here].

Mostly, yeah, you can pick it up as you go. An' if you need help, most people on these things're quick enough to try.

The bookstore I used to work for had some really nice journals. I bought, like, ten when I was working there.

Thank you, I'll certainly have to check it out. Librarian's salary isn't the best, but I consider journals and pens among the essentials like bread and eggs.

I much prefer pen, easier to write on my arms if I run out of paper that way. It doesn't happen often, but it has once or twice.
