Well, Ax makes it out of that war. So did the rest of us.
Jake got depressed. Really depressed. Armchair quarterbacked himself, every decision he ever made. Especially the terrible ones. He got better, after Visser Three/One's trial, and ended up teaching at West Point.
Cassie got her activist on. She ended up okay. With a guy that isn't Jake. Nice guy, too. I know what you're thinking, but he treats her right.
Ax got promoted to Prince. He made a damn fine one, too.
Tobias... He want MIA after your funeral. Was living out in Yellowstone, which became the legal habitat for the Hork-Bajir.
Me? I wrote a book. Didn't see that one coming, didja? Did the interview circuit. Got an acting gig. All successful. Lots of money, fancy house, the whole deal.
Visser Three/One got convicted of a fuckton of war crimes and is living out the rest of his days in a tiny tiny box. Thought I'd include that one for your personal enjoyment. I know it's always in my good dreams.
And then Ax's crew got fucked up. One survivor. The Andalites couldn't do anything because the ship was a Kel-uh, Kel-something, you know me and my attention span. They're a huge empire, extremely powerful, extremely loyal. The Andalites had a treaty with one proviso: You stay on your turf, we'll stay on ours. So Jake recruits me and Tobias to go out and try to find and save Ax. Highly illegal mission, just the three of us and a few of his West Point trainees. The ship was a Yeerk model, couldn't get the Andalites into trouble. Very fast, very sleek, very powerful.
Tobias named it after you, in case you were wondering.
So after a little while, we find the Blade Ship. There are some Yeerks on there, and here's where it gets weird.
They are worshipping a God. We were all hiding and this thing, this God they call The One who has somehow assimilated Ax, just picked us all out. It had bigger guns, and would've taken us out in the blink of an eye if we'd tried to fight it.
So Jake gives the order. "Ram the Blade ship." Last thing I heard before I showed up here.
That's the Cliff Notes. It's...not exactly pleasant, I know.
