And here I was trying to turn over a new leaf. See, death changed me, Captain Harkness. I've got my priorities straight now...I've seen the error of my ways and now I just want to live a quiet life with my dear Lucy. We've worked through our marital problems...the communication issues and manslaughter and whatnot...and now I'm just trying to mend fences with the people I hurt. I really am ever so sorry for any pain I caused you.

See, Jack. Wouldn't it have just been hilarious if I'd been serious right there? I mean...I personally think it's funny.
