[Rune, Navi, Bill and Will Turner] Coyote's wandered in. S'a bald man, now, going by Jacob. I felt it my... sporting duty to warn you in advance. Especially Bill and Will- he's a little excitable, especially when he's drunk. I don't want our likeness to cause you any problems.

Who needs something to do on New Year's? I know I'm expected to go to at least one party, but I was thinking of throwing another. Especially for all of our... new friends.

What's he going to do?

It's not like that. Usually. He's a simple con, and he likes to play games. Just... his idea of fun doesn't mesh with much of anyone's, sometimes. And he particularly likes to ruffle my feathers. I didn't want to have you be shocked, about him. If only because it makes him way too smug.

Oh, don't worry. If worst comes to worst, I'm a great shot with a rock.

Somehow, I don't doubt that. Thank you, I needed a laugh.

How have you been, beautiful?

You're welcome! (I am serious, though. You ever need someone whapped on the noggin with something, let me know.)

I'm okay! Looking forward to school starting up again. I'm redecorating the classroom a little.

Oh, I'm sure you were serious, and I appreciate it. It was more the image of you lobbing a rock at him and that newly-shiny skull of his, that got me laughing.

I might be a tad bit drunk.

That's good! How do you decorate a classroom for kindegarteners? I've never really thought about that.

It's a pretty funny mental image.

Uh-oh! Drunk? Careful, girls will try to take advantage of you!

Lots of pictures of things with words underneath them.

I thought so. Granted, he's a pretty good shot himself, but he doesn't hurt ladies. Someone, somewhere managed to teach him some form of manners.

One of the awful dangers of drinking alone. I'll try my best to hold my own, Navi. :P

Ah. Interesting. Subliminal conditioning to read.

Oh, I'll try to leave him alone, then, unless he's mean to me first.

You could... take advantage of yourself? hee.

Pretty much!

Oh, by all means, mess with him if you want. It's his due. Actually amuses the crap out of him, most days. I think the desert heat drove him insane, a while back.

I walked right into that, with the 'hold my own' comment, I think. And just how would you suggest I 'take advantage of myself', little fairy?

Um. Uh. Um. uh.

Messing with people, that is.

Now, see that there. I believe I was just warned about women taking advantage of poor, drunk me. Seems a shame we never reached the part about what, exactly, I'm supposed to do about it.

Other than take advantage of myself. Although I'm not sure that was cause and effect, per se.

What do you think?

I'm sure you have some ideas that don't involve taking advantage of yourself. You could always run them by me. I'm always here to help, you know!

You are a very, very helpful fairy, Navi.

Unfortunately, all the ideas I have involve you coming to my rescue, and that's just plain undignified. I might have to let the woman just have her way with me. For the sake of my manhood, see.

... which woman?

I'm not sure even a great tactician like you could take her. She's offering to help me, being very kind... and all the while, teasing me, putting her body in all sorts of suggestive positions.

God or not, I am a man, after all. And this is quite the beautiful body in front of me. The cruelest trick of all, the peep show. And she's quite the deviant.

To be honest, I'm not sure just what's going to happen when I put this thing down. At least for now, I can pretend to be distracted in the conversation. Otherwise, I might fall into her trap.

Or, walk in, I guess. Being able to see it, and all.

Especially traps set by, and filled with, a beautiful woman.

Definately a losing battle, every time.

No. Phoenix, or so he told me. We're getting drinks, if only so I can get a feel for where he is myself.

You still feel that odd sense of... something? I thought it was him, but I guess not.

I'm not as good at the niggling itchy little feelings as you are, but that said, even I can feel this one, it's like when the weather takes a sudden turn from dry to damp, or the other way around.

I don't know how I feel about it. I mean, this place could use a little shaking up, but... the not knowing's always a bitch.

And afterwards we'll all be going: 'oh should have known that's what was going to happen.' because that's just how people are.
