So I've got a DJ gig coming up in mid January.  There is.. a lot of stuff to learn.  For the past few days I've been reading the user manuals on all this equipment and putting my iTunes (is it some kind of law today that everything has to start with an i-something?) on shuffle so I can learn all the new music.

It's kind of inspiring though, digesting twenty years of musical progress all at once.  I think I might write something elektro-industrial, slip it in there and see if people like it.  The different genres haven't changed that much at all, but the new technology keeps it cleaner so I can make more complex sound without getting all static-y.  Plus I can do it all myself in my condo; no band, no studio, and no Techrat needed.  Don't get me wrong, I miss my band, but... they're not here, so I gotta make the best of it, right?


Hee, even fashion hasn't changed that much.  You know what I do miss, though?  Shoulder pads.  My shoulders feel naked without some big square jacket.  Oh well.  If I can track down a good keytar it'll help me get over shoulder pads.  :)
