You're overreacting a little. Family isn't just growing up together, it's making memories together. You and I are sisters. But when we first met, we weren't very close. It took us making memories and doing things together and finding out about each other. That's what family is. I think the genetics throws us together and the rest - the bonding - is what we make of it. You and I and mom and even daddy have made a home together. You don't have childhood memories but you do have memories of feeding Esme or going to school with daddy or talking with our mother. It's the same thing. You're growing up now.
It's silly to think you should give up. You shouldn't. You have a family. Giving up is throwing it away. Which is what you're upset at Darius for.
And Darius isn't really throwing anything away. I'm sure he'll spend time with Mr. Summers on his own. He doesn't have to come over.
But I do need you to help me with Thanksgiving. I'm not very good in the kitchen. So stop being weird.
