So, after talking with a few people I've determined that it's time to start looking for new employees. My name is Henry Townshend, and as some of you know I run a paranormal investigation agency. The name of the place is the All-Seeing Agency, and I want to note right up front that we are not a bunch of bigots trying to destroy all things paranormal. We take cases from people who are terrified to go home because their neighbor has been terrorizing them with black magic. We take cases from people with violent ghosts that are endangering their lives or the lives of others. In short our major aim is protect people that are being hurt. This misunderstanding came up the last time I posted one of these messages, so I just wanted to make sure this was clear right up front.
We also aim to try and safeguard certain dangerous objects. I have a warehouse that has been warded in just about every style I could think of, and I've been assured that while it is not entirely foolproof it is a very good place to store artifacts of power that people don't want slipping into the wrong hands. Any artifacts we recover will be going in there, and I'd like to offer this space to anyone in possession of other such artifacts as well. Note that this is in no way a prison and no sentient beings will be trapped within unless they pose an immediate and direct danger to the lives of innocent people, and even then it will only be temporary.
We have several openings. Here is a list:
1. We currently have a total of five investigator positions. I take up one of these positions, and I currently have one other investigator in my employ. So there are three available investigator positions left. The salary, as I know this is a major concern for people, is $65,000 a year. This job entails the five of us (assuming I get all five positions filled) investigating client cases. This may entail travel, as we are not limited to our local area. There may also be an element of danger involved, and applicants must be prepared for that. You will receive full benefits, health, optical, dental, the works. You will be provided with your own (reasonably sized) office, work emails, etc. You are required to come into the office five days a week, however I could care less if you're browsing the net, playing games, or watching movies on a slow day. There is no dress code.
2. We currently have a total of two, possibly three research assistant positions open. Research assistants will not go on cases with us unless we are sorely in need of numbers, and in some cases not even then. You must be willing to spend long hours consumed in various different types of research. Books, websites, past case reports, anything that we need to research really. Salary is $40,000 a year. You will receive full benefits. While you are not expected to come into the office five days a week, you will be considered "on call" and can be called into the office to help with research at any time. I will be reasonable with this, so don't worry too much.
3. We are in need of a secretary. Salary will be $35,000 a year. You will receive full benefits. Responsibilities include answering phones, typing up case reports and adding them to a computerized database, and filing. Experience is not required, but it is a plus. You must be able to type somewhat quickly and at least be able to pretend to have good manners, as you will likely be the first person potential clients actually talk to. This goes without saying, but you will be required to be in the office five days a week.
4. Consultants. Or work-for-hire...okay, I don't know what to call this position and "consultants" sounded the most professional. This position is perfect for people who don't want to commit to a full-time job but still think their skillsets or interests make them perfect for this field. Consultants will receive a flat fee of $12,000 with bonuses based on how long the case lasted, how dangerous it was, and how much you contributed to the case.
As of right now, we have one office in San Diego which is easily found in the phone book and easily reachable through portkeys. Our "hours" are: Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm, with one hour provided for lunch break. As I mentioned in the portion of the post outlining our investigator positions, each investigator will have their own reasonably sized office. These offices are situated in the back of the building, and there is a communal lounge area containing a kitchen which will be stocked, several extremely comfortable couches, and a television. The secretary will have a desk near the door, so that he/she will be the first people clients see as they come in.
You can take your one hour for lunch whenever you please. I'm going to ask that you don't take it the hour before we close, but if you've been swamped and haven't been able to take it, then do what you have to do. I don't want to rob anyone of lunch.
The basement is the aforementioned storehouse. The method for accessing it will be explained to you only after you have been hired. Paranoid? Perhaps, but considering what I intend to keep down there, I am taking no chances.
