Is that so?

It's a fact, actually.

How've you been, Bill?

And what's it mean?

Well as one can be, for being dead. I've got a new assistant. Girl by the name of Sookie Stackhouse. Apparently in her reality, vampires were lobbying for equal rights. It's quite interesting. Told her about your bookstore first, though, and she said she's not so good with books. Funny, that.

And you?

It's frustration.

Girl, huh? Why, Bill, you old sly dog. And it seems you make a lot of friends that aren't good with books - I don't like 'em much myself.

I'm really good, actually. It's ... weird.

And why are you frustrated?

It's not quite like that. She's someone else's girl, and I wouldn't doubt his coming here soon. Rather not start any fights with kindred over a girl.

Oh, I don't know, Dean, you seem fairly well off with them. Nobody said you'd have to read for recreation to get along with books.

Aye? You and your wife settling into domestication comfortably?

Long story.

Probably not. ... unless she's cute.

I guess that's true. I hate researching, but I do it. Whatever it takes to get the job done, you know?

Pretty much. Doesn't make it less weird, though.

Halloween a bad time for you, then? I'll see to it that my youngest descendant comes and cheers you up after his plans with his pack.

Oh, she's very attractive and quite the young lady, but she's still His.

I won't doubt that you'll always be your father's son in that respect. You were raised to ramble, and it's going to stick with you. It's in your blood, Dean. Down to the bone. But you'll take to this easily as you've taken to anything. Of that, I am sure.

It's never been a good day. Sort of a lingering dread, you know?

You're a better man than I.

Well, lucky for me I think Bela's the same way? We're always going to take vacations and try to yank a tourist wallet or four.

Aye, can't say as I blame you.

Well, tourists are good for two things. National revenue, and being bilked of their possessions.

I can't imagine that it's a very good day for you, either.

... well, another thing, but since you've got your partner, I doubt you'd know that much. ... crap, I'll have to pretend I forgot that.

Well, for one, I really can't dress up as anything more evil than what I already am, and there's always the bloody fucking Dead Things issue.

Husband, and you give me far too much credit. Pirate, remember?

Bill, you're a lot of things, but you're not evil. Seen that. it's not you. But the dead things? Yeah, pain in my ass.

... I wonder if I can use that excuse if it comes up?

[info]deusexvampira

Aye, well, vampire. Pirate. Two of the very best costumes and they've been taken. As for the dead things, let's just hope we don't need to worry about this world, aye?

Feel free. At least I doubt you'll be branded if you plead Pirate these days. Or hanged.

Man, I can't even remember the last time I dressed up. Me and Sam and Soren and Cass have plans for the day after Halloween - Candy Day. We're forming an elite task force.

... you don't know Bela.

You boys don't mind sharing a couple chocolates with some old farts, would you? Jack's got a sweet tooth. It upsets his stomach awfully, but he can't help but indulge.

Is she the branding, hanging type?

Of course not. Sammy's a Sour Patch Kids kind of guy, and I like Twizzlers and gummy things.

I wouldn't put it past her. God, I love that woman.

... I am not the "branding, hanging" type!

Dean: Come out to dinner tonight? Think we need to talk. Don't worry, it's about something you'll find desirable.

Nope. Just makin' up words to fit my mood. "blaaaaaaaaarg" was a front runner, but ended up coming in second.

How've you been? Damn, feels like I haven't talked to you in forever.

Been getting on just fine, people seem to like the tea shop better now that it's a tea shop and not a high-intensity coffee place.

And it's nice to see you're still six at heart.

Nothing wrong with coffee something to be said against tile and chrome all over and people coming into the place just to be sullen at the woman behind the counter and never relax for five minutes however.

Much more comfortable place now, you should come see it.

I should! Maybe get Bela some of those crunchy cookie things on my way out. It's ... weird, knowing what a girl likes.

That they are. And I've got them. Some little old bakery down the street brings them by every morning, apparently we've got an agreement. Pretty sweet deal, really.

That was like the, 'your sigh is so big, your hair blows out of your eyes' noise. I mean, if you had hair that moved.

Eh. Same. This time of year blows monkey chunks.
