An alternate universe. Saw a tornado? It was some kind of dimensional vortex.

[website] explains it. If you've got sensitive eyes, get some sunglasses before you look at it.

Oh, I just thought it was another spell.

Huh. Wonder if I'm immortal here too.

Well, glad I don't have to explain the "yes, magic is real" thing.

Well, most people usually come through unchanged. I mean, things that were obviously nonhuman, like golems or giant robots or something, are changed to look human, I guess to blend with society. But if you already look human, I think you stay pretty much unchanged.

Not sure if that answers your question, though.

I was already pretty far from home when I was brought here.

Not really, but I'm not going to test it until I have to. It'd be stupid to stab myself with my sword and then find out - no, not immortal anymore.

Thanks, though. Hey, what's a "bouncer"?

Ah. Think I see what you mean there.

Yeah, s'probably a good call.

A bouncer? You're either at the door, or somewhere inside, a bar or a club and take care of "escorting" people out. Either you get the peaceful ones that walk to the door with you and say "bye everybody I gotta go," or you get the ones that just start swinging, or already were when you had to step up. So pretty much you get paid to keep the peace in a club or bar.

Though I can't find my sword right now, so I guess I'm going to have to get a new one. That's a pain. Oh well.

... they pay people for that here? That sounds easy.

Sorry, I forgot my manners. I'm Seth. And thanks for the help again.

You can order them online. Easy as hell.

They sure do. Good money, too.

I'm Henry. No problem. Good to meet you. Any questions, feel free to ask and I'll try to answer them.

I like to try before I buy.

Huh. That'll work to get me on my feet, enough to buy a ship.

Thanks. Appreciate it.

Sounds sensible to me.

Buy a ship? I'm guessing you're not talking about fishing.

No problem.

It's the only way, especially if you're going to use a heavy sword like me.

Sort of.

I always laugh when somebody buys a weapon online and then freaks out when they don't get something that's perfect for them. What were they expecting?

That line of work isn't as popular these days. You won't have much competition.

Exactly. If you want something done right, commission it to your specifications and make sure they do it right. Shops just make standard fare.

Huh. That's good and bad.

Sounds like you'll do fine there. Might want to ask around, see if there's anybody that's good at making swords. This place gets all kinds, so maybe somebody can help you out.

Very true. Like most things in life, it's a double-edged sword.
