I think I'm entitled to a little drinking, don't you? I mean, I actually made a list of the things that have happened to me the past few months. Let's have a look.

Experience a future where Ava and I fall in love, we live happily, and then Cthulhu takes her and gives her back to her demon with me thinking she was dead after Cthulhu took her.
I live through the rest of the shit, consisting of losing two more employs to snipers and the previously mentioned baby shooting. (Yes, I remember that conversation.)
Some time/space thing that's weird even for this place goes down and my future self is back here and Ava's back. We're extremely happy.
Things go back to normal, only I remember them and so does she. We have a chance to be happy...after I take care of something. I proceed to do some really terrible, horrible things to make sure that future never comes to pass.
She disappears totally from the universe.

Pretty sure you could pick out any one of those things on that list and I'd still be entitled to a little liquid comfort.

There's some stuff I can't tell you about. The future, for instance. Just know it's really shitty and I wish I could forget it and all the things that happened there.

Then there's Ava. Thought I could be happy, then poof, then she was back, then poof again. Some of that happened in the future, so you probably don't remember anything other than this last poof. I'm beginning to think I might as well just stop hoping. Not like anything's permanent in this place.

That sucks, and I'm sorry. I didn't know. I can't say anything that'll make it easier or better. It doesn't help to tell you it will eventually be easier to think about, because it hurts now, which is always the important thing. The present, I mean.

I will tentatively say that actively seeking out more dangerous jobs or drinking would be a really bad way to deal with this, but I don't know that that's what you're doing.

	Future meant something to me, too. It's why I did what I did that week, why I ended every cult member in the United States. Actively seeking out more dangerous jobs? Definitely not. Drinking? Er...
