Terry laughed again, wrapping his arms around Rose's shoulders as she leaned into him. He never quite realised just how small she was until her cheek was pressed against his chest, and he had to duck a little to rest his against the top of her head. "I don't think there's any head-thumping in my future, but maybe I can manage a hair tug." As if to illustrate, he pulled lightly on the end of a strand of hair, then smoothed it down again.
"Thank you for going into this with me. No idea what we've gotten ourselves in for, but maybe it won't be so bad with good company." He squeezed her a little tighter, lingering for another moment before releasing her. He stepped back and grabbed his cane again before offering her his arm. "Think we should go up to the castle and see if they need any last minute help? I'm sure you saw the spectacle that is my and Lee's decorating job this morning at breakfast."
