Oliver continued to rummage through the box and came up with another interesting title; A journey through the Wizarding ages. Satisfied with that book, he brought it over to Binns's desk, sat down and opened it. However, he was only a sentence in when Penny spoke to him. He looked up at her and listened carefully.
What she said had made sense. She would definitely make a good wife to someone and most likely, a great mother. She was intelligent and seemed to be somewhat patient. She'd have good traits to share with someone and to pass on. Perhaps it could even end up being the two of them. Funny how he was thinking about things he'd never, ever thought of before. He'd never seen her as the type he'd have a relationship with. Then again, with Quidditch always being his first priority, he didn't really think of himself being with anyone in a relationship, no matter who they were. The few he did have in the past were short lived and tended to be witches who were fan girls and practically stalked him. They ended up driving him away and fast, especially the ones who tried to tie him down or tell him what to do.
"I've been thinking about it, but only very recently. I definitely see the need for finding a mate and bringing children into the world. I just don't know who I'd ever be with. I wasn't planning on ever making this decision, at least not until I was older." He sighed and then continued. "It's no secret a lot of lasses kind of throw themselves at me because of my Quidditch standing. I don't want someone wanting to be with me for that reason. I'd hope to eventually love who I'm with, though it should be that which comes first. This is all so bloody backwards."
Oliver looked at his book for a few moments but then looked back up at Penny. "Do you think we should just try things with people we're already friends with? Or do you think something like this could ruin a friendship? We're already disagreeing with some of the people here. I'd hate to screw things up with the few people I consider good friends. You, Alicia and Hermione, for example. Though, wouldn't it be better to settle down with someone that's already your friend instead of someone you hardly know and end up miserable?" This was going to be extremely difficult.
